Our story began in the most unexpected, yet sweetest way—through our moms. Derek's mother and mine were close friends. Regularly, the three of us would head out for coffee and conversation.

One day, his mom brought along her teenage son to join us. That small moment changed everything. There was an instant connection between us, one of those rare feelings that you just know means something special.

One of my favourite early memories is when he took me to my very first Simons store in Calgary. It might seem like a simple shopping trip, but I fell in love with him that day. There was something about the way he made everything feel exciting and special. I knew this was someone I wanted to share my life with.

Fast forward to today: 30 years of knowing each other, 23 years of marriage, 2 amazing sons, and 3 beloved dogs.

London, Ontario

A year ago, I visited my granddaughter in Vancouver. While there, it was the first time I shopped at your store. I found the selection, quality, and price excellent. London, Ontario, does not have a Simons store, so I have been shopping online ever since. I am so blessed to have discovered Simons.

Armida

Simons is an absolutely wonderful store! One of my delightful experiences has been taking my 15-year-old granddaughter shopping there. Imagine something of interest to all generations!

I found a blue and white striped duvet cover to spruce up our room aboard our sailboat in Vancouver.

Our boat's name is Lulu Louve.
Lulu is for our border collie who, unfortunately, passed away on March 7.
Louve (meaning “she-wolf”) is for me. My boyfriend thinks I resemble one!

When I go to customer service to collect a package that I've ordered, and I don't have to give my name to pick it up because the person recognizes me, I end up wondering if I shop too much at this store that is without a doubt my favourite!

Each time Mr. Dostie stops for a moment to offer us advice, it's a complete joy.

Pauline

Lac-Beauport, Quebec

I worked at Université Laval as a secretary. It was exam period, and I wore a small turquoise skirt with yellow stars and a small knit sweater, both from Simons.

I was coming back with exam papers using the elevator and unfortunately, the elevator stopped at my waist. A group of students came to my rescue. One student in particular gave me both of his hands. He would become my husband, Michel.

Hélène

When I was 18, I worked in the transfers and credit department in Old Quebec. I would take calls from sales associates asking for various authorizations. I would often speak to Pierre-Olivier, who was working in shirts and ties at Place Sainte-Foy.

One day, a sales associate contacted one of my coworkers to ask what colour my hair was.

After asking him why, we figured out that some of the guys had bet on the colour of my hair because they thought my voice was charming on the phone. My coworker convinced me to go meet the guys! Today, I'm married to Pierre-Olivier from shirts and ties, and we have three daughters.

Simons holds a special place in our family history and will always be the place where I met my husband for the first time.

In my childhood memories, when out shopping with my parents, I remember running into my aunt who worked at the Ste-Foy store.

The atmosphere was so elegant and fashionable, just like it is today. I still go there for the atmosphere, where shopping becomes an event, where the fashion inspires you.

I opened my Simons account when I was 16 and I'll be 83 in August. All of my wedding clothes, except my dress, came from Simons. I still have the pyjamas from our honeymoon.

Juliette

Rimouski, Quebec

My Simons story is a story about my cat, Banyo.

He loves Simons' cardboard boxes. The way they open, the discovery of what's inside, the crumpling of the tissue paper, and the smell... everything about them attracts Banyo.

He suddenly took to Simons, and now it's the highlight of his day.

My hubby is not a shopper. I brought him with me, and he fell for Simons. He loved his pieces and now it's become his favourite place to shop.

I've been an avid Simons shopper for years. My entire wardrobe is from the store. My 11-year-old daughter made her first purchase at Simons with me. She was so excited to find a piece to add to her wardrobe. It's become a place for our family to explore and find unique purchases. We go there for all our occasions.

My sister and I were visiting your Mississauga store location. While browsing the home department, I recognized a familiar face standing beside me. “Excuse me, are you that famous person from Cityline?”

He smiled, blushed, and confirmed that he was Derek Selby, a makeup artist and longtime guest on the show. We chatted and laughed about everything from childhood in Toronto to our lives now. Our 10-minute conversation thoroughly made my sister's and my day extremely enjoyable.

Gail

My experience with Simons has been extremely wonderful. Everything I have purchased has been quality. I get compliments on every sweater I wear. My husband's aftershave was also a hit!

While shopping in your Montreal store, a DJ was spinning some amazing tunes, prompting my bestie to break out her moves. One of my favourite shopping experiences ever! So much fun!

I want to recognize Mackenzie, a manager at the West Edmonton Mall Simons, for her amazing customer service. She went above and beyond, helping me find everything from the perfect bathing suit to a new winter coat and formalwear. She even helped me become a Loyalty Member. Because of her, I'm a Simons shopper for life!

Christine

West Vancouver, British Columbia

Simons has the best service. I was helping my then over 90-year-old mother to find something to wear to a fundraising gala. The typical sleeveless bustier-style ball gown was not going to be, shall we say, appropriate (comfort-wise or otherwise).

At Simons, we found a long-sleeved, fully sequined turtleneck top. The sales clerk was so helpful, and so amazed that this super sparkly silver top was going to be worn in style with a long black skirt by a nonagenarian. My mother looked and felt fabulous at the gala.

For months afterward, every time I was in the store, that same sales clerk asked after my mother—and that made me feel fabulous as well.

My memories go back quite a ways with Simons. I was born in Thetford Mines and we used to go shopping in Quebec City. A stop at Simons was always on the itinerary.

As a kid, I was amazed by the beautiful displays, the choice of clothing, and the quality. I was so proud to leave the store with my Simons bag in hand!

I've lived in the Outaouais region for many years and Simons finally opened in Gatineau and Ottawa.

What a pleasure it is to shop at Simons once more and especially to feel like a kid again during each visit!

Micheline

Quebec City, Quebec

My story starts with a little prune corduroy dress bought during the fall of 1981.

This dress fit me so well and I felt confident in it. I decided to wear it to a party at my hospital with the clear intention of getting the attention of a colleague who, I guessed, also had a crush on me. I was right: we've been married now for 42 years!

Long after that, I often wore this lucky charm of a dress. And I still shop at Simons!

In 1993, I decided to leave CEGEP to go work in Quebec City without any money. I found myself three jobs. All my friends were at university. One week later, I finally went back to Chicoutimi.

Before I left, I went to Simons. I instantly fell in love with this magnificent store that was so my style. My taste for luxury quickly got the better of me, and I set my sights on a magnificent duvet cover in a heavenly fabric.

I spent all my savings on it. I never regretted it, and I had it for at least 10 years. I painted the colours of the duvet cover on the walls of the apartments where I lived afterwards. Mauve in 1994, beige in 1996, and blue in 1999. You could say it was my lucky charm.

I'm always excited to find beautiful clothes and to see your fashion shoots! I've worked in retail for some big-name designers. After all these years in the fashion world, what you do makes me so happy. Thank you so much! Simons helps me learn about myself and fuels my passion.

Lise

At the age of 18, I wanted high heels, so I ordered them from Simons. They were navy blue platforms with a three-inch heel—my shoes were amazing. During the evening, my heel broke, so I wrote to Simons and told them what had happened. I sent them my shoes, and they sent me back a brand-new pair!

Claude

St-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec

For my sister Daniele and I, Simons was our favourite place to shop. One of the last things she bought was a chain of pearls and a gold medallion that I wear in loving memory of her since she passed away.

The Simons in Saint-Bruno still reminds me of her every time I visit.

I bought my first Shetland wool sweater at Simons in 1976. I was very proud when a girl from Rimouski whose parents were very wealthy noticed the Simons label. I didn't have the money and as I was very careful with what I spent, it was the first piece of good-quality clothing that I bought myself and that I kept for a very long time.

Today, I shop at Simons for the quality and the service, and no one turns over the labels to see where they are from.

Murielle

Longueuil, Quebec

I've been shopping at Simons since 1958. Once I was married, I lived in Longueuil and when I visited friends in Quebec City, my first stop would inevitably be Simons in Ste-Foy.

Now as a senior, I continue to shop at Simons at Promenades St-Bruno. I remain a loyal customer. My daughters and my 23-year-old granddaughter also shop at Simons. It's Simonsmania!

Don't laugh, I am in love.
At 92, I should hide it?
I was young, I've grown old,
I was fuller, I've gotten thinner.
My beautiful clothes that I had to stop wearing,
I kept them, and now after a few years
I'm bringing out what I preciously kept,
And believe me I am fashionable and proud of it.
I rub shoulders with the saleswomen who know me
Maybe they say: her again?
Well yes, it's still me.
Faithful as a shadow.
I tell you, I am in love with Simons.

When Xavier Philippe, our oldest grandson, graduated, my husband took him shopping at Simons to get him his first suit! Both were very proud!

An associate in the Contemporaine section in Downtown Montreal became my friend. We talked every time I went shopping and one day we met up for lunch. We saw each other regularly.

Fall 2014, shopping with my best friend who's almost a sister to me. After agreeing to be her witness for her wedding, we found the dress for her big day at Simons.

Having gotten through storms, great heartaches, grief, and drama together, good days and happiness had returned. It was a beautiful day of bonding, laughter, and friendship.

When I was 20, I worked near Simons on Côte de la Fabrique in Quebec City. I'd walk by the store before taking the ferry and then a rural bus to my beautiful village of Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse. For years, I would go in at least once a week.

Then I got married and my habits changed. I began going to Place Ste-Foy. I'm 76 now and I shop online at Simons for my husband, my children, and my grandchildren. When they get their gifts, they always tell me what good quality they are and that's what the Simons brand means to me.

This happened at Place Ste-Foy.

I ran into my granddaughter, Anne-Sophie, with her friends. She had just been telling them that her grandmother always shops at Simons.

It was a complete surprise, and they laughed a lot when they spotted me in the mall with my huge Simons bag containing a beautiful comforter.

I learned about Simons from my mother. She lived in Quebec City and then Montreal. I remember how much she loved to go back and see her family in Quebec City, and how happy she was to visit Simons while she was there. She was proud of this store; she appreciated the quality and authenticity. There was nothing else like it.

My mother passed away in 2014. Every time I go to Simons, I can't help but think of her.

Think back to 2020. We were living through an event called the pandemic, but for me that also included getting divorced, moving house, and the death of my father.

I experienced a turbo-charged mix of emotions. As if that weren't enough, while I was getting ready to move into my new space, Quebec and the rest of the world was shutting down. But the Simons website was up and running and I found the most beautiful items to decorate my space!

Decor, rugs, kitchen accessories, items for kids' rooms, bathroom accessories, and more. You had it all! It was such a joy to unpack my boxes and settle into my new life.

Five years later, I'm still in that beautiful, comfy space that looks just how I want it to. Simons is very present here and I can point to every item that helped me to figuratively rebuild my life.

Last year, in a rather fragile state of mind, I gathered my courage and went to Simons, looking for a pair of pants.

Having lost my apartment and my belongings in a fire, I was slowly rebuilding my wardrobe. My budget was tight, my nerves were still raw, and the prospect of finding what I needed was intimidating.

As expected, the choice of pant brands and colours was endless, and I started to panic. I spotted a saleswoman and asked for her help in a panting and helpless voice that I almost didn't recognize. After explaining my situation, she quickly took things in hand, asking me questions that narrowed her search down to four pairs of pants.

I was stunned to find that three of the four pairs of pants fit me perfectly. The saleswoman, whose Spanish accent utterly charmed me, was originally from Central America and, while we chatted in her language, she showed a warmth that matched her professionalism.

She had the pants adjusted by a seamstress, and one hour later, I left the store a loyal customer. Since then, my modest downtown studio has been furnished thanks to my online purchases from Simons.

I adore Madame Laroche who works at the Simons at Promenades St-Bruno.

What a pleasure to meet this warm woman who politely but honestly told me if an outfit suited me or not.

When I am looking for a garment in the Contemporaine section, Madame Laroche finds THE exact right thing. She always has a delicate touch, really listens to me, and gives me good advice. And let me tell you, she's always right.

Finding THE perfect sales associate who gives good advice is so important for a store. Getting help from Madame Laroche feels like going shopping with your best friend!

Over ten years ago, my daughter and I were going shopping at Simons to update her wardrobe. I made a comment that Simons was only for young people. “Mom, Simons is for everyone,” she responded.

The following week, as my birthday was coming up, my daughter picked me up saying that she had a surprise for me. We went to Simons and she introduced me to the Contemporaine section.

At first skeptical, I found a pair of black pants with white polka dots. They fit me like a glove! It was my first purchase, and I wore those timeless pants everywhere. And every time people asked me where they were from, I was proud to say, “Simons in the Contemporaine section.”

During Covid, my husband and I got married after dating for ten years. I needed a beautiful dress for the occasion, but most stores were closed. I went to your site, and I found a very pretty lace dress.

Spring 2025. A customer arrived at the fitting room. The sales associate knew her and they began talking. Their reunion was full of love and gratitude. The customer told her about the problems she was having, and the associate listened to her attentively. I carefully followed along with their beautiful story and became friends with these two lovely individuals.

I picture my mother and I in the '80s and '90s leaving Montreal to go shopping in Quebec City at Simons. At the time, there wasn't a Simons store in Montreal. I remember that my mother loved socks, and she found so many at Simons.

Today, I regularly place orders, and I am always satisfied. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, we cheered ourselves up by ordering from Simons!

I live in Mauricie and for 15 years, my husband (now deceased) had to go very regularly to the hospital for care. We left early in the morning, and I would always accompany him.

When leaving Quebec City or while waiting for him, it was as a sort of thank you that he offered for me to go and treat myself at Simons. He would wait for me in the car saying that he was going to take a little nap before we got back on the road.

It was my happy moment on these difficult days that allowed us to believe in better ones. And I always found little treasures there. Simons is etched in my heart.

In 1978, I began my first year of CEGEP. I met a young student who was just a bit older than I was. We had many classes together. She had a soft and calm voice. The semesters flew by and we fell out of touch.

About five years ago, I was waiting at a register when I heard this soft and calm voice. It was her, Ginette, a Simons employee, who was about to carry out the transaction. What a great way to meet again!

When my relationship with the person I'd eventually have two kids with was still new, he went to Simons to buy me a birthday gift. It came in the signature green box and was a beigey-mustard top and brown skirt. Not really colours I'd ever choose myself. He said he'd seen the outfit on a mannequin in the store and thought that the brown skirt would match my hair!

I no longer have that outfit (and my hair is grey now), but I have many other pieces of clothing, accessories, and housewares that I've bought at Simons since then.

I got my friends in Ontario into Simons. I even have sent Simons gift boxes to friends in the US. I've sent packages to my mother who currently lives in rural Ontario.
