Indigo Arrows
Winnipeg, Manitoba
As a designer and member of Peguis First Nation, Destiny Seymour created Indigo Arrows in 2016 as a way to revive the traditions that her Anishinaabe ancestors practiced for thousands of years. That is, creating beautiful patterns to adorn their pottery collections and tools. With her degree for Interior Design from the University of Manitoba and almost 15 years of experience, she believes this form of Indigenous art should be shining bright in our homes, not gathering dust in museum exhibits. Destiny's modern textile creations tell the story of an entire nation, help us remember its people, and bridges the gap between the past, present, and future.
