Atelier Tréma

Bedford, Quebec

When she was younger, ceramist Marie-Joël Turgeon would vacation in Maine with her family. Around the same time, she started learning pottery, and recognized the same soothing movement in ceramics that she saw in the sea. After earning a bachelor's degree in visual arts at the Université du Québec à Montréal, she founded her studio in 2004. Today, she often returns to the shores of the deep blue sea with her husband and business partner, Jordan Lentik, when they vacation in the Maritimes. This love for the ocean is readily apparent in the creative duo's pottery pieces, most notably in their fluid lines, marina-inspired designs, and wavy textures that bring wind, salt, and sand to mind. Each piece is crafted slowly and naturally like it would have been by the elements and is ready to be displayed in our homes.
