Product Insights

Quay's Hit Single Narrow Angular Sunglasses deliver polarized lenses and trend-driven style at a low price, but the 'Narrow' name misleads—the 145mm frame fits medium-to-large faces and often slips on narrow ones, despite adjustable nose pads. Buyers face inconsistent quality with bent frames and scratched lenses, and the non-wraparound design lets side sunlight reduce real-world UV protection, trading off value and style for durability and fit reliability.

Verified claims

Fit
The Narrow name describes the lens shape, not frame size; the 145mm total width is medium-to-large and often slips on narrow faces.
UV protection
Level 3 UV lenses, but frame gaps let in side sunlight, reducing real-world protection.
Polarization
Polarized lenses included at no extra cost.
Quality consistency
Buyers report inconsistent quality—some units arrive with bent frames or scratched lenses.
Scratch resistance
Lenses advertised as scratch-resistant but buyers report they scratch easily.
Side protection
Non-wraparound design leaves side gaps that admit sunlight, reducing UV protection.
Nose pad adjustment
Pinching the adjustable silicone nose pads inward narrows the grip to improve fit on narrower noses.
Value
Polarized at no extra cost; buyers value the low price and style turnover.
Build quality
Buyers report flimsy frames and scratches, ranking Quay below budget rivals for sturdiness.
Sizing
145mm frame fits medium-to-large faces despite 'Narrow' label; pads adjust.

Source Threads

  • Negative feedback on Quay High Keys quality

I regret buying the blue High Keys because they're flimsy, easy to bend, easy to scratch and honestly, I don't find that they actually protect your eyes from the sun.

  • Positive quality remark about Quay

Seconding Quay! Pretty good quality too!

  • Quay as affordable, stylish sunglasses

I am always afraid to lose mine at the beach or just forget them somewhere, but also don’t want them to look cheap so I like Quay. They run awesome sales and the styles do change for collabs and stuff

  • DIY adjustment for Quay sunglasses arms

If they're acetate arms, I boil water and VERY EXTREMELY GENTLY use the heat from the hot water to bend the end of the arms so they stay on my head. Fits so much better and works every time. Patience is key here. Not-too-expensive brands like Quay are the perfect pairs to start and experiment with.
