Product Insights

Paul Smith's Mini-Fruit Dress Socks are Italian-made statement socks knit in the Castel Goffredo hosiery district, offering one of over 100 seasonal designs featuring fruit icons. The fine-gauge 80% organic cotton knit delivers a smooth, silky handfeel and stretch recovery that, combined with 2% spandex, keeps the vibrant pattern and shape intact after 20+ washes, outperforming Uniqlo or Polo in durability. Designed for dress wear, they lie smooth under tailored trousers. The main tradeoff is the $39 CAD price, a conscious splurge for statement wear rather than everyday basics, and the need for gentle care—machine wash cold and air dry to preserve longevity.

Mini-Fruit Dress Socks: Choose these if you want playful dress socks with a personality—an allover knitted fruit jacquard of strawberries, cherries, and small blue and yellow fruits on a black crew-length pair with a small white Paul Smith script printed near the toe. The stretch fine knit of 80% organic cotton, 18% polyamide, and 2% spandex, ribbed cuff with elastic edging, and Italian construction suit everyday dress wear. Note they come in one size only and in black.[2,3]Large Flower Blue Dress Socks: Choose these if you want statement dress socks with a bold look: large multi-petal flowers in a darker contrasting color repeat across the blue sock body, and the heel and toe are a slightly darker solid shade. They are a fine, stretchy knit made in Italy from 80% organic cotton, 18% polyamide, and 2% spandex, with an elastic-edged ribbed cuff. Note they come in one size only, and the large floral motif is a statement pattern rather than a subtle design.[1,4,5,6]Mini-Dog Dress Socks: Choose this for a playful dress sock that adds personality to tailoring or casual footwear, with an all-over small dog motif, a fine stretch knit in an organic cotton blend (80% cotton, 18% polyamide, 2% spandex), elastic edging, and Italian construction. It comes in one size and patterned colorways, and is machine washable inside out. Note that the knitting means small threads occasionally pop through at color changes—these can be safely trimmed without damaging the sock.[7,8,9,10]

I just refreshed my socks. Went with Darn Tough socks for casual stuff, really great quality wool socks. Made in the US in Vermont. I went with Paul Smith for dress/statement socks.

  • Paul Smith socks hold up better than Uniqlo/Polo after many washes

I know, I know, $14 is still a lot for a pair of socks and there are undoubtedly cheaper alternatives out there - but if these are your thing they are very rarely this heavily discounted. For what it's worth, I wear dress socks every day and I find these hold up much better than a lot of other socks like uniqlo/polo etc. after 20+ wears/washes.
