Product Insights

Stanley's Classic Food Jar is a lightweight (0.32 kg) insulated container that keeps liquids hot for 6–8 hours and solids hot for 2–4 hours with preheating, backed by a lifetime warranty and decades-long durability. Its self-contained folding spoon clips into the lid without contacting food and maintains a leak-proof seal, while the wide mouth eases cleaning and the cylindrical shape fits cup holders. However, the lid is extremely tight—often requiring a jar opener—retains odors that need baking soda soaks, and the external spoon can be awkward in bags. The jar's recycled 18/8 steel reduces manufacturing energy by over 60%, but contains ~8% nickel, a common allergen.

Excellente qualité, format un peu trop petit pour un adulte mais parfait pour un enfant

Actually Keeps Food/Liquid Hot!

Kimberly S.

I purchased one of these for my oldest child to make sure it kept her food hot. This is the first food container I've purchased that has actually keep the food hot! I just purchased two more for my other children now that I know it does it's job. It also doesn't leak when she places the container into her backpack with a bit of soup still inside. This is exactly what I was looking for. Plus it looks nice. Would def recommend!

  • Stanley recommended for food flasks

Stanley makes food jars of various sizes that are similar. Stanley has been around forever and makes great stuff.

  • Negative review of Stanley 24oz food jar

I have the 24oz ATG and hate it since 1) it's too big/awkward to eat out of [I don't have small hands] 2) doesn't retain heat as well, only for 2h tops if you like HOT food even after pre warming; 3) the giant hole in the lid is not washable and retains odors for EVER 4) really awkward to pack in any bag, like WTF is this shape?!

  • Preference for Yeti due to Stanley's hard-to-open lid

i also am kinda weak when it comes to opening jars so this comment made me go with a yeti since ive seen many people say stanleys were hard to open haha

  • Comparison of Stanley and Thermos food flasks

I have good experiences with both, but my Thermos was one my father bought and used on construction sites long before I was born. So take my opinion of Thermos with a grain of salt. The one I use is older and the quality might not be the same. The Stanley flask I've used held up pretty well and is still in good condition. Both products hold heat or chill for at least 6 hours in my experience. Hope this anecdotal evidence helps.

  • Stanley Classic praised for durability and ease of cleaning

Stanley Classic is the way to go mate. Had mine for about 3 years now and it still keeps chili piping hot for the full day at work. The wide mouth makes it dead easy to clean too which is massive when you're dealing with proper sticky food

  • Comparison of Zojirushi and Stanley food jars

I think 28oz should be fine for a single meal, especially if you’re packing something filling like pasta or rice. Between Zojirushi and Stanley, both are solid choices—Zojirushi keeps food hotter, but Stanley is super durable. You don’t have to pack soup in the bottom; just preheat the thermos with hot water, and it’ll keep your food warm for at least 4 hours.
