Product Insights
The Black Cat Planter 4.25 In by Simons Maison is a reversible ceramic cachepot that offers dual-purpose use: the cat graphic side for Halloween and the plain beige side for everyday decor, though buyers note the beige side appears warmer and darker than listing photos. Priced at $9.50 (and often on sale for $4.99), it fits standard 4-inch nursery pots for easy watering without a gravel layer or saucer, making it suitable for small plants like succulents, snake plants, and pothos. The glazed ceramic surface resists stains and cleans with a dry cloth or diluted vinegar, but the planter is indoor-only and has no drainage hole, requiring a nursery pot to be used inside. Buyers report occasional chips on the cat's face or shipping damage due to ceramic brittleness, so inspection before gifting is recommended. Despite these tradeoffs, it is popular as a functional and humorous decor piece, with some purchasing multiple as stocking stuffers.

Display a small potted plant in its nursery pot
Use this cat-shaped planter as a cachepot for a standard 4-inch nursery pot on a shelf or windowsill. At just over 4 inches wide, its interior is slightly oversized so the pot fits with a bit of room, and its simple cat outline keeps the greenery as the focus. Because it has no drainage hole and is decorative only, keep the plant in its own pot or use a faux plant rather than planting directly in the planter.[1]
Halloween accent that flips to year-round decor
Use this small planter as a seasonal display piece: show the black cat face for Halloween, then turn it around to reveal a plain beige side for a neutral cachepot the rest of the year. It's decorative only, so it's not meant for planting directly in soil. Note that the beige tone can read warmer and darker in person than in listing photos, which surprised some buyers matching it to their decor.[1]
A small gift for the cat lover on your list
Reviewers have picked up this cat-shaped planter as a present for family members, including grandkids and daughters, and some plan to give several as Christmas presents or stocking stuffers. Note that a few buyers received units with damage — one arrived smashed and another had a chip on the cat's face that a gift recipient spotted right out of the box — so it's worth checking the planter before wrapping it.[1]
Product comparison

| Black Cat Planter 4.25 In: Choose this if you want a small glazed-ceramic cachepot with cat-themed charm for a shelf or windowsill: its 4.25 inch opening, 4.75 inch diameter, and 4.25 inch height fit a standard 4 inch nursery pot, and reviewers say the simple black cat face appeals even to non-cat owners. A plain beige reverse side lets it flip from Halloween decor to year-round neutral use. Note that it is intended for decorative purposes only — with no drainage hole, plants should not be set in soil directly inside — and a few buyers found the beige darker than pictured or received chipped units, so check it over on arrival.[1] | Grooved Footed Planter 4.75 In: Choose this for displaying small plants: reviewers say it fits standard 4-inch nursery pots well, making it popular for repotting grocery-store herbs or showing off ferns and succulents, and its footed pedestal and vertical grooves in a glossy ceramic finish are described as suiting modern, vintage, and eclectic decor. Note it is a decorative cachepot only—do not plant directly in soil—and one reviewer reported it arriving broken in shipping, while another noted the actual shade can differ slightly from listing photos. It comes in one size (4.75-inch opening, 5-inch diameter, 6 inches tall) with Cream Beige and Green color options.[2,3,4] | Grey Kitty Planter 2.5 In: Choose this if you want a whimsical, glossy ceramic cat planter for a mini succulent or small nursery pot — reviewers report the 2.5 inch opening fits a small pot snugly, making it ideal for desktop greenery, a pencil holder, or a gift for a cat-and-plant enthusiast. It is intended for decorative use only, so plants should not be set in soil directly in the planter, and its narrow opening and shallow depth exclude plants larger than a mini succulent. Note that one buyer received it with a broken ear, suggesting the packaging may not fully protect the delicate points in transit.[5] |

Planter
Very cute
Fun
Good vase, large and cute design
Cute!
Quite wide. I bought it because it resembles my cat somewhat. I know. I don't ever buy "cat" merchandise but this sort of made its' way into our home. I'm not using it as a planter because there are no holes in the bottom and live plants would die but you could put a faux one in it. Or a live one in a separate pot inside this one. Currently it is on a pantry shelf holding all my kitty's pre-packaged skinny tube shaped treats (Churru) I can't use it for dry treats as there isn't a lid to keep them fresh because....it's a "planter". Very cute. Good size. May put a faux plant in it sometime ....a succulent perhaps.
Fidèle à la photo
Vraiment joli. Ajoute caractère à mon décor. Peu dispendieux. Merci!
Cute!
Cute for a small plant. Decent quality.
