Product Insights
The Large Khaki Corduroy Storage Basket by Simons Maison offers durable, moisture-resistant storage with a broad, stable base and two handles for easy lifting, while its collapsible design and machine-washable fabric ensure long-term care; its 7.5-inch walls prevent bulging but limit height, providing excellent value at 1.39 CAD per litre compared to alternatives.
Verified claims
- Cost per litre
- Cost per litre (1.39 CAD/L) is about 60% less than the La Redoute Veloudo (3.61 CAD/L).
- Handles
- Two metal loop handles allow two-handed lifting, which helps when the basket is full.
- Material
- 90% polyester, 10% metal corduroy resists moisture and stays structured.
- Design
- 14x10x7.5-inch base resists tipping and folds flat for easy storage.
- Moisture resistance
- Polyester corduroy resists moisture, dries quickly, stays structured in humidity, and is less prone to mold/mildew than cotton, though no added moisture-resistant treatment is specified.
- Stability
- Short 7.5-inch walls and a broad 14x10-inch base reduce the chance of bulging and resist tipping when loaded.
- Long-term appearance
- Color stays true, scuffs are camouflaged, and fabric resists pilling over time.
- Washability
- Care instructions are not specified for this basket; polyester corduroy may be hand or machine washed on a gentle cold cycle, but machine washability is not confirmed by a care label.
- Shape retention
- 7.5-inch walls and moisture-resistant polyester corduroy help the basket hold its shape and make bulging or collapse less likely.
- Tipping resistance
- The 14x10-inch base gives the basket a low center of gravity that resists tipping, even with heavy or uneven loads.
- Wear concealment
- Wales conceal minor scuffs and dust from daily use.
- Color retention
- Khaki color resists fading from humidity and sunlight.
- Collapsibility
- The basket is collapsible and folds flat when empty; it does not have a rigid internal frame, so it can be stored compactly when not in use.
- Value
- At $25 CAD for 18 L, this basket offers more capacity for less than similar corduroy baskets from La Redoute or Evideco.
- Washing
- No specific care tag is supplied; general polyester corduroy care is gentle cold-water wash, inside out, and air dry, avoiding fabric softener and high heat.
- Capacity
- The basket provides roughly 18 litres of storage capacity.

Storing towels and linens with a basket you can carry
This soft khaki corduroy basket works as a practical, decorative spot for stowing folded towels, blankets, or similar items in the bathroom or around the home, as shown styled with a folded towel and faux foliage. Its two looped corduroy handles let you lift and carry the basket between rooms while keeping contents tidy.[1,2]
Decorative storage for shelves and tabletops
Use this rectangular khaki corduroy basket to keep everyday items tidy while adding texture to a bathroom or bedroom display. Its corduroy fabric and piped top rim make it work as decor on its own, and the two loop handles make it easy to lift or carry. In the retailer's product photo, it's shown holding a folded blanket.[1,3]
Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Large Khaki Corduroy Storage Basket: Choose this for practical yet decorative storage of items like folded towels or throw blankets, in a khaki/green corduroy-look fabric with pronounced vertical ribs, a rounded top rim, two upright loop handles, and a lighter fabric-lined interior. Its soft-sided rectangular body measures 14 x 10 x 7.5 inches (36 x 26 x 19.5 cm), is made of 90% polyester and 10% metal, and holds its box shape while remaining collapsible. Note that the listing labels the color khaki in the name but green in the color field, and the pink blanket shown in photos is a styling prop, not part of the product.[1,2,3] | Jute Large Cubic Basket: Choose this if you want a natural jute storage basket with a clean cubic shape that works as both a practical and decorative piece in a bathroom or living space. It measures about 11.75 inches tall and long and 12.5 inches wide, with a dense braided weave, open top, and two short looped handles at the rim for easy carrying. Because it is a natural-fiber piece, expect slight variations in colour and dimensions, which the brand frames as giving each basket its own unique character.[4,5] | Large Braided Water Hyacinth Basket: Choose this if you want a decorative, natural-fibre basket for light-use storage like rolled towels, throw blankets, or entryway shoes — its large oval shape (19 x 15 x 8 inches), braided water hyacinth texture, and loop handles make it an easy statement piece that stays lightweight to move. Keep in mind that its handcrafted character comes with uneven rims, and some buyers reported wobbly bases or that it looked smaller than expected. Reviewers also note the braids can loosen with rough or frequent handling, so it suits gentle, decorative storage better than everyday kid-access use.[6,7,8] |
