Product Insights
Simons Maison's Black Bath Cushion is a $9.99, quick-drying bead-filled pillow that looks premium and stays light when wet, but it relies on suction cups that only hold on smooth, porous-free bathtubs and can snap off (though the body accepts replacements), offers firm, moldable neck support that may feel lumpy or understuffed, and supports only the neck and shoulders.
Verified claims
- Surface compatibility
- Suction cups only hold on smooth, non-porous bathtub surfaces.
- Cup breakage
- Some buyers report the suction cups breaking during the first use.
- Support feel
- Bead fill molds to the neck, but some buyers find it firm, lumpy, or bead-like rather than foam-cushioned.
- Drying
- Polyester beads shed water and dry quickly, reducing mildew risk.
- Care
- Some units arrive understuffed; beads settle over time; shake to redistribute.
- Attachment
- Suction cups hold best on clean, smooth surfaces; textured tubs cause slippage.
- Wet weight
- Beads do not absorb water, cushion stays light when wet.
- Brand heritage
- Simons Maison is the in-house brand of a Quebec department store founded in 1840.
- Maintenance
- Post-bath removal and air-drying prevent mold and musty odors.
- Value
- At $9.99 CAD, the cushion appears upscale but supports only the neck and shoulders.
- Suction cup hold
- Suction cups may detach on steep or textured tubs; clean and warm cups improve hold.
- Aesthetic appeal
- Buyers describe the cushion as beautiful and premium-looking despite its low price.
- Dimensions and coverage
- The cushion is 15.75 inches wide and 8 inches tall, designed to sit across the tub's shoulder line with a neck and upper-shoulder cradle that does not extend far down the back.
- Installation order
- For the strongest suction, attach the cushion to a dry tub surface before filling the bath.
- Washable cover
- A buyer notes the cushion has a washable cover.

Cushioning your head, neck, and back during a relaxing bath
This compact bath cushion attaches to the tub with suction cups and uses moldable bead filling you can shape for neck and head support while you unwind in the tub. Note that reviews report the suction cups can struggle to hold or break on textured, steep, or glossy tubs, so it works best where they can grip a smooth, flat surface. The bead fill feels firmer and less plush than foam, and it cushions rather than fully covering the back and head, with some reviewers finding units understuffed so the cushion can sag under weight.[1]
Easy-care bath cushion that dries fast between soaks
For frequent baths, the quick-drying bead fill and removable, machine-washable cover make this cushion simple to keep clean and mildew-free, and it can also be wiped down with a damp cloth. Note that the bead fill dries quickly but feels firmer and lumpier than foam bath pillows, so it trades some plushness for easier upkeep.[1]
Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Black Bath Cushion: Choose this if you want a compact bath pillow (15.75 by 8 inches) whose moldable polyester bead fill can be shaped for head and neck support and dries quickly to help prevent mildew, with a cover that's easy to keep clean. It attaches with suction cups, so reviewers report it can slide or the cups can break on textured, steep, or glossy tubs unless there's a ledge. Note that the bead fill feels firmer and lumpier than memory foam, and some units are understuffed enough to bottom out under weight.[1] | Mesh Bath Cushion: Choose this if you want a compact bath cushion for at-home spa days that supports your head and neck while you soak. It attaches to the tub surface with two clear suction cups, has a raised honeycomb mesh surface in white (one size, roughly 11 by 7.5 inches, or 28 x 19 cm), and dries quickly after use. It is machine washable for easy care.[2,3,4] | White Cloud Bath Cushion: Choose this if you want a cloud-shaped cushion that supports your head and neck during baths, with suction cups to attach it to the tub surface and a 100% polyester cover with polyester bead fill that wipes clean with a damp cloth. Note that one customer review reported the cushion makes a loud crinkling noise when you lean on it, and another found the suction cups unreliable so the cushion can slide and need reattaching; it comes in one off-white (pale ivory) size measuring 17.25 inches by 11 inches (44 by 28 cm), so it may look yellowish against pure white bathtubs.[5,6] |
