I use the Under Armour Boxer Jocks which I think has the "pouch" you are talking about. If you look at them compared to the give and go by ex officio, you can see the front dongle area is quite a bit different. I have never thought about separation between my testicles and legs. All I can say is that of the many synthetic boxers I have tried, these are by far the most comfortable.
