I used the Allpa 35 for years and actually don’t recommend it. It’s bulky, heavy, and when fully loaded it’s not very comfortable. It gives that turtle sensation with hardly anything in it, which is annoying because it’s also floppy when underpacked. I dislike that to get an item from inside my bag, I have to flop the whole thing open then open the inside zippers. Totally a personal preference thing, but I found I also much prefer a U shaped zipper with a large packing area vs clamshell design with half your packing on each side. I didn’t like that the subdivided sections force you to pack to the bag’s restrictions (certain items only fit in one section etc) rather than your personal packing style. I bought the ULA Dragonfly 30 which somehow packs the same amount of stuff as the Allpa 35 yet solved all of the problems I described.

Comparison of Allpa 35 comfort to Osprey Fairview
Yeah, no contest. I bought an Allpa 35 on Black Friday, but I'm returning it. I love the organization, but its a really uncomfortable pack. Maybe I'm spoiled since I've only used versions of the Osprey Farpoint, but its like night and day. I would compare the padding on the Allpa to an overloaded jansport school backpack, while wearing the Osprey is like someone giving me a warm hug.

I have used one for couple of years now, it works great as a carryon, very durable, and i love the open like suitcase design but the main complaint is it is not that comfortable for walking long distances.

Detailed downsides: organization, water bottle, hip belt, Del Día material
The clamshell design is simple to pack and organize initially, but difficult to access without opening it all the way up. * The top pocket can usually fit the stuff I want handy (10,000mAh battery, e-reader, 18oz Hydro Flask, toiletries for airport checkpoint removal), but there's nothing to keep everything separate and secure, plus the water bottle has to go in horizontally. The top pocket does have a small single internal zippered mesh pocket with its own two small sleeves, but whatever small things I throw in there (wired earbuds, cables, keys, chapstick, hair ties) invariably fall out of the sleeves and get tangled up. Also, the top pocket's capacity may decrease as you fill up the rest of the bag, especially the main clamshell left side's two upper subdivided mesh compartments and the space behind them. * Hip belt is not ergonomic (6'M), but at least it's removable (apparently wasn't on older models). * Lacks structure when not mostly or fully packed. No compression. * I got the Del Dia, which lacks the TPU coating that some users complain scuffs/cracks. Still plenty durable, plus I get compliments on the colors.

Warranty claim denied for zipper failure
"Guaranteed for Good" Couldnt be further from the truth. Until, recently I've been a big Cotopaxi fan, mainly based on the design functionality for the Allpa 35 pack. Recently, I was on a trip and under normal use, the inside zipper pulled apart. The bag is just over a year old. I expected a company like Cotopaxi to stand behind this simple product failure. After submitting a warranty claim, several days later, I received an email stating that this is not covered under warranty and they suggested I pay for a third party repair service. I've been a big Cotopaxi fan for a while and will never purchase a product again. There are many similar/superior quality product companies that stand behind their product.

Airline compatibility and scuffing issues
I have the 35L and it’s fit overhead on EasyJet, RyanAir, and AerLingus. Tons more too, I’ve had it for three years now and still love it. If you do get one, I recommend using the cover it comes with. I didn’t and mine is all scuffed up now. I think it’s mostly from checking it but I’ve definitely got some scratches from other places, too.
