Printed Tie-Front Cami
Twik by Simons exclusive designed in Canada presents the Printed Tie-Front Cami, a sleeveless cropped camisole with a V-neck, wide shoulder straps, and a straight hem. The front features two self-fabric tie bows that create a vertical center opening, and the back has a shallow scoop neckline. Made from a LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose and linen blend, this top is covered in a small-scale navy-and-white gingham check pattern.

Product Insights
This Simons-exclusive cami in a breathable, wrinkle-resistant viscose-linen blend offers a soft, fluid drape and moisture-wicking coolness, with two-bow detail and straight fit. Its eco-certified fiber reduces water and carbon use by 50% and is traceable via molecular marker, but requires careful machine washing and air drying to avoid up to 10% shrinkage—a tradeoff for sustainability and natural-fiber performance that justifies the $49 CAD price against polyester alternatives.
Verified claims
- Fabric
- Viscose-linen blend is breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and soft from first wear.
- Design
- As a Simons exclusive, the two-bow detail and straight fit reflect the retailer's own curated design.
- Breathability
- Linen blend wicks moisture and stays cool, outperforming all-viscose or synthetic tops.
- Shrinkage
- 70% LENZING ECOVERO viscose/30% linen shrinks 2–4% length and 1–3% width with proper care; tumble drying risks 10%
- Washing
- Machine wash inside out in a garment bag on 30°C gentle cycle; no fabric softener or bleach.
- Drying
- Air dry flat and reshape while damp; tumble drying can shrink up to 10%.
- Ironing
- Steam or iron inside out on low heat while slightly damp.
- Storage
- Store folded or on padded hanger in cool, dry place away from sunlight.
- Eco certifications
- Fiber is EU Ecolabel, FSC/PEFC, and biodegradable certified.
- Environmental impact
- Fiber production uses 50% less water and carbon than generic viscose.
- Traceability
- Each fiber contains a molecular marker for origin verification.
- Sustainability
- Fiber is EU Ecolabel certified, traceable, and biodegradable, unlike polyester competitors.
- Value
- At $49 CAD, the natural-fiber blend and Canadian design justify the premium over polyester tops.
- Fit
- Straight fit drapes fluidly, not stiffly, due to viscose content.

Deep Research
Care and maintenance for the viscose-linen blend
- A gentle or hand-wash cycle capped at 30°C, using a mild liquid detergent and no fabric softener, is essential for this blend: hotter water harms the ECOVERO's wood-pulp fibers and accelerates color fading, while bleach can permanently weaken the fabric and strip the pattern's vibrancy.
- To prevent the lightweight viscose from stretching or yellowing, store the cami in a cool, dry space away from sunlight; a padded hanger preserves the shoulder line and tie details, while folding protects the fabric from sagging under its own weight.
- After washing, laying the cami flat on a towel and gently pulling it back to its original shape while wet is critical because ECOVERO viscose fibers swell and contract; this step prevents the permanent set-in wrinkles and size reduction that tumble drying — which can cause up to 10% shrinkage — would inflict on the straight fit.
- Steaming is ideal for relaxing the post-wash stiffness of ECOVERO viscose without heat stress, but if using an iron, a low-heat pass on the reverse side while the fabric is still slightly damp — per linen care guidelines — lifts creases and crisply redefines the tie-front bows without scorching or pressing in wrinkles.
- The LENZING ECOVERO viscose in this cami shrinks a predictable 2–4% in length and 1–3% in width — markedly less than standard viscose's 4–7% — but the 30% linen and any tumble drying can push total shrinkage toward 10%; washing at 30°C and air-drying flat locks in the straight fit from first wear.
How this cami compares to other tie-front tops under $50
- The Twik's straight fit (as listed by Simons) contrasts with the A New Day cami's relaxed fit, which can alter how the top interacts with bottoms; a straight cut tends to create a cleaner line for tucking into high-waist pants, while a relaxed fit can add volume — a subtle choice that may sway buyers who prefer a more streamlined silhouette.
- As a Simons in-house line designed in Canada, the Twik cami is not a generic item produced for multiple retailers; it is conceived and merchandised specifically for Simons' customer base, which means the design — including the two-bow front detail — is likely driven by the retailer's own style perspective rather than a vendor's broad-market play, offering a more curated alternative to nationally distributed store brands like Target's A New Day or Old Navy's house labels.
- Where fast-fashion retailers like boohoo offer 'linen-look' tie-front camis made from 83% viscose and 17% polyamide with no actual linen, the Twik incorporates 30% linen, which brings the textile's signature crisp drape, moisture-wicking, and refreshingly dry hand to the piece — a measurable upgrade for anyone sensitive to synthetic textiles in hot weather.
- At $49 CAD, the Twik cami stands apart from lower-priced tie-front tops like Target's $20 A New Day cami by using a LENZING ECOVERO viscose and linen blend instead of wholly synthetic fabrics — while the Target alternative is 98% recycled polyester and 2% spandex, the Twik's natural-derived fibres offer greater breathability and a cooler, more absorbent wear for summer.
How the ECOVERO viscose and linen blend feels and breathes
- The high viscose content cuts down significantly on the deep creases typical of all-linen garments, so the top maintains a neater appearance throughout the day with less need for steaming or ironing after wear.
- Even at 30%, the linen contributes significant airflow and moisture absorption — the fabric stays cool and dry against the skin in hot, humid conditions, making this cami a stronger performer in summer heat than a 100% viscose alternative.
- Unlike many pure linen pieces that feel rough until they soften over time, this blend arrives with a skin-friendly smoothness straight off the rack — a meaningful advantage when wearing the cami against bare skin in its first few outings.
- With viscose as the dominant fiber, the fabric feels soft from the first wear and drapes with a fluid, silk-like movement — it's not a crisp piece, but one that skims the body with a smooth hand, fundamentally different from a pure linen cami.
- The 'straight fit' in the product description is balanced by the fluid drape from the viscose, so the cami hangs softly and follows the body's contours rather than creating a stiff, boxy silhouette — a forgiving drape that flatters without clinging.
Sustainability story beyond the fiber certification
- Each LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fiber incorporates a unique molecular identifier that survives yarn spinning, weaving, and garment manufacture, allowing brands and consumers to verify the fiber's origin through Lenzing's traceability platform — an uncommon level of supply chain transparency for viscose.
- LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose production uses at least 50% less water and generates at least 50% fewer carbon emissions compared to generic viscose, validated by life-cycle assessment data in the Higg Materials Sustainability Index — a quantified reduction that directly shrinks the environmental footprint of the garment compared to a standard viscose cami.
- The wood pulp for every LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fiber is sourced from forests certified by FSC® (FSC-C041246) or PEFC (PEFC/06-33-92) or controlled wood sources aligned with Lenzing's Wood and Pulp Policy, ensuring the raw material comes from responsibly managed, non-endangered forests.
- Lenzing AG, the maker of LENZING™ ECOVERO™, is ranked first in the Viscose Producer Performance report by environmental nonprofit Canopy, a global initiative that audits viscose manufacturers for forest-friendly sourcing and chemical management — a third-party signal that the fiber's sustainability claims are backed by industry-leading practices, not just marketing.
- LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose is independently certified as biodegradable in soil, freshwater, and marine environments and compostable under home and industrial conditions, meaning the fabric can fully return to the earth at end of life rather than persisting as synthetic microplastic waste.

Cute
Really like it. But not perfect
Léger et élégant
Super léger pour les chaudes journées. Très joli
Perfect for summer
This top is cute with nice structure. My only complaint is the brown is quite dark, almost looks black. But l I’m still keeping it. I’m usually a M but sized up to get more length and boxiness and I’m glad I did.
Q&A
