The CADDIS Neta are reading glasses with rectangular, full-rim frames made from high-density bio-based acetate, featuring a punch-through nose bridge, integrated acetate nose pads, and 5-barrel industrial hinges. They measure 53 mm eye width, 18 mm bridge, and 140 mm temple, with a scratch-resistant hard coating and a water/dirt/grease-repellent lens treatment for easy maintenance. User reviews indicate solid frame construction and lens quality, but note that the blue-light blocking coating produces a visible reflection and the frames may feel heavy to some wearers.

Product Insights

CADDIS Neta Reading Glasses offer durable bio-acetate frames with adjustable five-barrel hinges and sharp, distortion-free optics, including blue-light coating and lens upgrades typically costing extra elsewhere. However, the blue coating creates a strong reflection noticeable to others, non-adjustable nose pads may cause slipping and pressure points, particularly for narrow or low nose bridges, and buyers report possible progressive distortion and weight issues, making the tradeoff between premium features and fit/comfort central to the product story.

Verified claims

Blue light reflection
The included blue-light-blocking coating produces a noticeable blue/purple reflection.
Daily wear
Bio-acetate frames are as durable as conventional acetate and hypoallergenic.
Nose pad adjustability
The nose pads are integrated into the acetate frame and are not adjustable; they are fixed as part of the punch-through nose bridge design.
Magnification options
Available in 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 for black; 3.0 may be available in other colors.
Durability
5-barrel hinges withstand over 25,000 flex cycles and can be adjusted by any optician.
Coating care
Avoid hot water, dry wiping, and alcohol/ammonia cleaners to protect the coating.
Coating maintenance
The water-, dirt-, and grease-repellent top coat makes the lenses easier to keep clean in daily use.
Price value
Neta sits in the Warby Parker price tier but includes $39 in lens upgrades standard.
Material
Frame is bio-acetate with renewable plasticizers, hypoallergenic, and used by luxury brands.
Value tradeoffs
Buyers note the frames can feel heavy and the blue-light coating produces a noticeable blue/purple reflection; the nose pads are fixed.
Brand Positioning
Forbes: best modern reading glasses; includes coatings that save $39.
Customer Loyalty
The single reviewer on file describes the glasses as solid and well made and indicates a second pair was purchased.
Fit
Buyers with narrow or low nose bridges may find the glasses slip or create pressure points.
Scratch resistance
The Neta lenses have a premium hard coating designed to resist scratches.
Aviator style
The Neta reads as aviator-style but sits on the smaller side of the aviator family, making it a compact aviator option rather than an oversized one.
Face shapes
Caddis calls the Neta ideal for round, square, and heart face shapes because the squared rectangular orbitals add definition.
Frame sustainability
The bio-acetate frame starts with cellulose from cotton or wood pulp rather than fossil fuels.

Neta Reading Glasses: Choose this if you want bold, glossy black full-rim rectangular reading glasses with a keyhole-style punch-through bridge and integrated acetate nose pads, described by the brand as ideal for square, heart, and round faces. The bio-acetate frame measures 53 mm eye width, 18 mm bridge, and 140 mm temples, with 5-barrel industrial hinges built to withstand over 25,000 flex cycles and lenses carrying a scratch-resistant hard coating plus a water, dirt, and grease-repellent coating. Note that Black comes in 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 magnification, while Brown appears only in 2.0.[1,2,3]Wabi Sabi Rounded Square Reading Glasses: Choose this if you want lightweight, comfortable readers in a glossy tortoiseshell (Taupe) full-rim rounded-square frame made of bio-based acetate, with lenses protected by a hard scratch-resistant coating plus a water, dirt, and grease-repellent coating that eases cleaning. It comes in magnification strengths of 1.5 and 2.0 and includes a signature storage pouch. Note that one customer who bought this frame with progressive lenses was unsure the progressives worked for them and considered swapping to plain readers, so consider your lens type carefully.[4,5,6,7]Miklos Rectangular Reading Glasses: Choose this if you want a bold, thick-profile rectangular frame that stays comfortable for extended reading: it is a lightweight bio-acetate design with 5-barrel hinges and bent temples for a stable fit, plus scratch-resistant and water-, dirt-, and grease-repellent lens coatings, anti-reflective treatment, and a signature storage pouch. It comes in a medium fit (52 mm eye width, 20 mm bridge, 145 mm temples, 143 mm frame width) in Taupe or Green with 1.5 or 2.0 strengths, and CADDIS says the thick, solid-feeling frame appeals to people with both larger and smaller faces. Note that some wearers report the arms can feel excessively tight, which may cause discomfort or headaches for those with wider heads or sensitivity to frame pressure, and the all-caps PORT and STARBOARD engraving on the top edge is polarizing.[8,9,10,11,12]

  • Caddis reading glasses recommended by a friend with expensive taste

Warby Parker, which you mention, and Caddis are “order glasses online” operations that happen to have brick and mortar shops in New York City. A friend, who has expensive taste in glasses, uses Caddis reading glasses and swears by them. The prices of these companies are very competitive.

  • Single vision Caddis glasses: great quality but heavy with intense blue blocking

I have a pair of single vision, i got them 2 years ago when they used to put your own prescription on them. Quality and durability is amazing. I have the D28 and i find them a bit too heavy and large (Male, 6'1", 210lbs). Also something to note, the blue blocking these glasses have are VERY STRONG and noticeable by others. When you look at someone wearing these you will see a very in your face blue/purple reflection from the glasses. I personally, think it's a bit too strong for social settings. Even on zoom they seem a little distracting. if you look on their website they have retailers all over that I would recommend to go to and see if you can try them on in person.

  • Positive long-term experience with Caddis readers and prescription glasses

Yes, have purchased their readers (2 pairs) and 2 pairs of prescription eyeglasses (both progressives, one with transition lenses, too). Great service, seem to be quality frames, well-made, sturdy and quality lenses. Purchased first pair of readers in May 2025 with subsequent purchases made through August 2025. So far so good. I have a friend who has been buying their glasses for awhile now and has been very happy with his purchases, too.
