Product Insights
CHIMI Lea Narrow Oval Sunglasses (320 CAD) are a fashion-forward, narrow-fit design prioritizing style and comfort over optical performance. UV400 protection and a Category 3 tint (82-92% light blockage) provide glare reduction without polarization, preserving LCD compatibility. Durable frames and hand-adjustable nose pads ensure lasting fit on narrow faces, while the lightweight metal frame prevents slippage. However, buyers note that non-polarized lenses lack AR coating, trailing polarized competitors in optical clarity and glare reduction, making Lea a tradeoff of fashion and fit for those who prioritize design over advanced lens features.

User experiences lens quality issues with Chimi 04
Bought a pair in stockholm. IMO the glass/lens is the weak link of the glasses, the first pair (Gradient) blocked zero light. Second darker pair blocks light well, but the quality of my friends Ray Ban Polarized seems higher. Still absolutely usable and look great but at some point I wonder if i can have a lens shop grind me some new lenses for these

Comparison between Chimi, Persol, and Serengetti
Even though they're Luxottica, persol are better. Persol offers mineral glass lenses. If you are buying something like them for fashion over function, then Nordstrom Rack is a great spot to go. Brands that are the same quality as Chimi, but you can get two of them because they have an 80% discount. If you are looking for function first with fashion a close second, then serengetti is having a sale, especially for women's frames. They are way better than persol.

Long-term user finds Chimi durable but notes lens changes
I’ve had my Chimis for over four years now and they’ve been great—sturdy frames, sturdy hinges. I’ve stopped carrying their case around after the first year and there’s no major sign of wear and tear. They’ve been my go-to pair, as I don’t find them too heavy on the nose. That being said, I’d still only shop their sales, though. I ordered my third pair the other day and curious to see if the lense quality has changed—it seems they’re no longer polarized.
