Product Insights
This textile-and-metal Large Flower Brooch from Simons, priced at $19 CAD, mirrors Simon Basset's iconic Bridgerton brooch and carries fan-interpreted symbolism of hidden tenderness and familial love. Its serrated clip grips thick fabrics like wool but lacks a locking mechanism and is unsuitable for delicate materials; it offers a monochrome graphic silhouette compared to luxury botanical realism, and a pricing at roughly one-20th of a $425 handcrafted silk replica. Store in a soft-lined pouch with anti-tarnish strip, apply perfume before pinning, and spot-clean fabric with a damp cloth while polishing metal with a dry jewelry cloth.

Merci Simons!

Explanation of the brooch's meaning
It was never addressed in the show, and those of us who never read the books had no clue what it meant. I only learned that it was his mother's after I watched each and every reaction clip I could find on youtube. That was when I learned it was his way of keeping his mother close. But I think the brooch meant even more: it also signified that Simon had a softer side hidden somewhere beneath his aloof exterior. Remember when he first appeared in Episode 1 riding the horse into town, and he wore that annoyed scowl on that handsome face of his? He seemed unapproachable, and yet he kept his mother's brooch on his lapel. I think it was a subconscious signal to himself and others that despite his declaration to never marry, deep down he wanted to be close to someone and he wanted to be loved.
