Product Insights
This handwoven wool rug (90% wool, 10% cotton) offers a monochromatic low-pile design that provides styling versatility for varied interiors, grounding furniture and harmonizing with natural materials while offering warm/cool undertone choices for matching. Its natural performance includes biodegradability, fire resistance, VOC-free off-gassing, self-extinguishing at high temperatures, impact noise reduction up to 30 dB, and thermal insulation, with renewable wool that repels dirt via lanolin. The low pile ensures crisp pattern edges, furniture stability, door clearance, smooth movement, and safe layering over flatweave rugs. The main tradeoff is initial shedding that diminishes after weeks of vacuuming with a suction-only head; care requires suction-only vacuuming, prompt blotting, and annual professional cleaning.
Verified claims
- Handwoven signature
- Subtle pattern irregularities confirm handwoven craftsmanship, not machine replication.
- Natural performance
- Handwoven from 90% wool and 10% cotton, the rug is biodegradable and naturally fire-resistant.
- Styling versatility
- Monochromatic low-pile design serves as a neutral foundation for varied interior palettes.
- Safety
- Wool does not off-gas VOCs, and its high nitrogen and water content makes it self-extinguishing without melting or dripping; its ignition point is 570–600°C, nearly double that of cotton.
- Comfort
- Reduces impact noise by 25-30 dB while providing natural thermal insulation.
- Sustainability
- Renewable wool with lanolin dirt repellency and low-energy handmade production.
- Shedding
- Some initial shedding is typical for this wool rug and usually diminishes after a few weeks of suction-only vacuuming, but a few buyers report heavier, longer-lasting shedding that spreads fibers around the home.
- Placement
- Low pile allows door clearance, furniture stability, and smooth chair movement.
- Maintenance
- Low pile resists matting and doesn't trap debris deep in the fibers, but the sculpted grooves can catch surface dirt that needs targeted vacuuming; the tightly woven surface also minimizes dust and allergen accumulation.
- Pattern sharpness
- Low pile preserves crisp pattern edges by reducing fiber blur.
- Layering
- Low pile enables safe, non-bulky layering over flatweave rugs.
- Design role
- The monochrome pattern grounds furniture, harmonizes with natural materials, and offers warm/cool color choices for undertone matching.
- Undertone matching
- Light Grey suits cool room finishes; Ivory/Cream Beige suits warm room finishes.
- Care
- Vacuum regularly with a suction-only or brushless setting, blot spills immediately with a clean cloth and mild wool-safe detergent without rubbing, schedule professional cleaning annually, and rotate periodically to even out wear and fading.
- Setup
- Pair with a rug pad on hardwood; low pile suits doors, furniture, and layering; pick undertones to match decor.
- End-of-life sustainability
- The wool fiber is biodegradable, making this rug a more sustainable long-term purchase than synthetic alternatives.
- Hardwood-floor safety
- The rug's backing is not specified as non-slip, so a rug pad is strongly recommended to prevent slipping and protect hardwood floors from scratches.
- Tactile softness
- Buyers describe the wool as so much softer than synthetic rugs from big-box stores.
- Initial odor
- Some buyers notice a slight wool smell at first.

Wow! Amazing quality
First time getting a wool rug. Beautiful. So much softer than store bought plastic rugs from big box stores. Wool is so much better. Has a bit of a smell at first. Well worth the purchase!.
Just kept shedding
The carpet looked nice enough. But it was covered in loose fibers when it arrived. I vacuumed it three times. It still kept shedding these little pieces of carpet. When I did my weekly vacuum the dirt would get stuck in the pattern of the carpet. Annoying and not practical.
Ruined our living room brutal shedding
The carpet will gets all over your clothes, completely that you have to change your pants. The wool is going everywhere all over the house. Gets all over everything! a nice colour and design but honestly not worth it
