Product Insights

The Saxx Bass Micro-Dotwork Boxer Brief offers a patented self-locating pouch that prevents chafing and stays in place during activity, with no-ride-up legs and breathable mesh for comfort, but the pouch support weakens after washes and the seam often fails within a year, making the $38 price poor value compared to cheaper alternatives like Hanes Total Support or 32 Degrees.

  • Positive feedback on Saxx comfort and ballpark pouch

I've never tried those, but I have several pairs of the various Saxx that he reviewed really closely. The mesh ridges that separate your stuff seem like a big advantage to me. I love them and they're super comfortable!

  • Saxx Quest is favorite; alternatives exist

Saxx Quest is probably my favorite pair of Saxx underwear. If the ballpark pouch is a feature you're looking for, there are more affordable options to dip your... bills into. The Hanes Men’s Total Support comes in a 3-pack for like $20. The 32 Degrees brand can be found at Costco, and it's like the Poor Man's ExOfficio, You can get a 4 pack for like $24 on AZ.

  • Disappointment with Saxx quality despite ball park comfort

I wonder to see Saxx in this r/ my opinion is stil about the boxerbriefs, but the quality is the same like you get from any cheap walmart offer, beside the ball park. I was really disappointed and would not recommend Saxx, especially if you expect anything close to ExOfficio.

  • Mixed review: soft but unsupportive after washes

I bought a pair of Saxx briefs. Wore them once and liked them. After wearing them another half dozen times, I decided they were very soft, had good, strong elastic on leg holes, but were not very supportive of my junk, so I decided to not buy any more than the one pair.

  • Declining quality and durability issues with Saxx

Saxx quality has gone down in the last 5-10 years. It’s been a gradual decline but their original pairs used to last me years (>3). Recent purchases fail within 6 months where the fabric near the crotch will tear (not at the seam) and it’s impossible to patch. I no longer consider Saxx to be good value for the money they cost. It’s certainly not BIFL.
