IMO, they are super comfy (they have a nice leather sole) - just get the next size up though. I like what you say about HG shoes, I imagine that these would last longer though. IMO, HG suits and generally clothing is waaay overpriced for its quality and you are mainly paying for the label.

Comparison of Pantofola d'Oro sneakers to other Italian brands
I have a couple of pairs and wear them on a regular basis along with some other Italian ones like Diemme, Tod's No-Code, etc. They can be said ok for the prices paid but not up to the others mentioned in style and quality/craftsmanship. I would not consider them they belong to luxury realm as others. The Diemme and Del Carlo are top-notch sneakers in quality and finish, let alone Tod's (No-Code included). My wife really enjoys Hogan too (Tod's line). She seems to prefer the Hogan to Giuseppe Zanotti.
