Value proposition: best fitting polo but overpriced, buy on sale
Don't pay retail for them. It's probably the best fitting and most flattering pique polo there is, they last forever, and the laurel is iconic and subtle. Besides the classic M12 (twin tipped polo shirt), their knitwear is pretty decent. Because of their association to various subcultures and music scenes, they also have somewhat of streed cred. Polos (especially american ones) are safe and boring. Not so much for Fred Perry. But for the last decade, they've hiked their prices, beyond what's reasonable IMO. Especially for their more limited collections, I'd suggest Smedley as an alternative. Luckily, with a bit of searching, both can be had for far below retail.

Quality decline: China-made items poor, European-made excellent
Fred Perry quality overall has decreased over the past 5-7 years. The stuff from China is poorly made and still expensive. I do find the items made in Europe still have excellent quality though.
