Product Insights
These placemats pair environmental savings – recycled cotton avoids virgin cotton's ~10,000 L/kg water demand – with durability and color vibrancy from a 25% recycled polyester that strengthens the weave, resists shrinkage, locks in pigment, and speeds drying. However, they demand gentle wash and prompt spot care to prevent pilling or stains, lack non-slip backing so slide on smooth surfaces, and cannot withstand hot dishes without a trivet.
Verified claims
- Material blend
- 75% recycled cotton and 25% recycled polyester blend resists shrinkage, strengthens weave, and locks vibrant colors.
- Resource savings
- The reprocessed cotton avoids the ~10,000 L/kg water demand of virgin cotton.
- Durability
- The placemats are a 75% reprocessed cotton / 25% recycled polyester blend; the recycled polyester adds strength, resists shrinkage, and retains color.
- Care
- Recycled cotton's shorter fibers make the fabric prone to pilling, so washing on a gentle cycle and treating food spills promptly with cold water helps prevent pills and permanent stains.
- Color retention
- Polyester content locks in pigment, maintaining bold color through hot washes.
- Drying speed
- The 25% polyester reduces drying time by absorbing less water than cotton.
- Stain resistance
- The polyester content repels water-based spills, making stains less likely to set.
- Sliding
- Placemats have no non-slip backing and slide on smooth surfaces.
- Heat
- Placemats are not heat-resistant; hot dishes require a trivet.
- Machine washability
- The placemats can be machine washed and dried; cold water and a mild detergent give the best colour retention.
- Fabric construction
- The placemats are rectangular and tightly woven, with a textured surface.
- Wrinkle behavior
- The recycled polyester helps reduce wrinkling, but several buyers still report needing to iron the placemats after washing.
- Available colours
- This set comes in four colourways: Grey, Ivory/Cream Beige, Pine/Bottle Green, and Slate Blue.

Adding a pop of colour to your table
These placemats are a quick way to add colour to your table setting, and many customers find the shades complement an existing tablecloth or decor well. Keep in mind the actual colour can differ from the online images—some report it looking paler or with different undertones—so matching a specific piece may involve some guesswork.[1]
Dressing the table from holiday dinners to summer BBQs
These placemats give a table setting a chic, classic look, with a versatile design that reviewers say suits occasions from Christmas dinners to summer BBQs. They're generously sized to cover more table area, though some shoppers were surprised by how large they run, and the material is thinner than some expect. For formal dinners where you want a crisp, pristine appearance, plan on ironing or steaming them first.[1]
Festive placemats for BBQs and patio dining
Per a reviewer, this set of four coloured placemats works well for outdoor summer entertaining: the vibrant colors add a festive touch to BBQs and patio dining, and spills wipe off easily. That easy cleaning is what one customer highlighted as making them a favorite for these occasions.[1]
Handling everyday spills with quick wipe-downs
For families dealing with spills at the table, customer reviews report these placemats clean up easily with a damp cloth, so spills don't stain — a low-effort alternative to laundering after every meal. For deeper cleaning, the merchant describes them as easy-care and machine washable and dryable. Note that reviewers say machine washing often leaves wrinkles and curled edges that need ironing, and some report slight shrinkage even when following the care instructions.[1]
Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Coloured Placemats Set Of 4: Choose this for a set of four woven rectangular placemats measuring 13 x 20 inches (33 x 50 cm), offered in Grey, Ivory/Cream Beige, Pine/Bottle Green, or Slate Blue, with a classic, unembellished look reviewers call versatile from Christmas dinners to summer BBQs. Daily upkeep is low-effort—reviewers report spills wipe clean with a damp cloth—but machine washing often leaves wrinkles and curled edges that need ironing, and the fabric can shrink slightly even when care instructions are followed. Also note the actual shade can appear paler or with different undertones than online images, and the thinner fabric may not suit anyone wanting a heavier, more substantial placemat.[1,2] | Monochrome Braided Placemats Set Of 4: Choose this if you want wipe-clean, stain-resistant round placemats for messy family meals, patio dining, or seasonal tablescaping—reviewers report the tightly braided texture wipes clean in seconds, doesn't trap crumbs, stores flat without creasing, and holds up to daily use. Each mat is 15 inches (38 cm) in diameter, sold in a set of 4, and made of 85% recycled polypropylene and 15% polyester, with reviewers noting the generous size fits a dinner plate and suits round, oval, and square tables. Note that a hot dish placed directly on the mat can permanently warp or ripple the braided edge (use a trivet underneath), small plates may wobble on the uneven texture, and the actual shade may skew darker or grayer than photos, especially in stone and green colorways.[3,4,5] | Nature Landscape Laminated Cork Placemats Set Of 4: Choose this if you want a set of 4 Simons Maison placemats, designed in Canada, that bring a nature landscape of green trees and misty mountains to the table. Each placemat measures 11.5 by 15.75 inches (29 by 40 cm) with a laminated paper/MDF top and cork backing, wipes clean with a damp cloth, and is heat resistant up to 90 °C (194 °F) — so use trivets for anything hotter. Matching pieces are sold separately if you want to extend the look.[6] |

Pleasing fabric.
The fabric is woven from black and white threads so when viewed from afar, it appears charcoal gray. Nice casual look. Good value for the price.

Belle couleur et facile d'entretien.
Presque parfait!
Les napperons fripent beaucoup au lavage et même au séchage. Il faut vraiment leur faire reprendre leur forme très vite le cycle terminé. Sinon, tout est beau et ils correspondent à mes attentes.
