Product Insights
Artza & Co.'s Strata Wallpaper Strip is a 6-mil commercial-grade vinyl wallpaper with a visual texture print on smooth vinyl that hides minor wall imperfections and seam lines, while its matte finish wipes clean and resists moisture. Priced at about $5.80 per square foot, it is printed on demand in Quebec with low-VOC inks. The main tradeoff: removal is safe only on smooth drywall with fully cured paint, it is not recommended for textured walls, and its adhesive fails in high humidity, restricting installation to well-ventilated rooms. Additionally, the 24.5-inch pattern repeat may increase waste, and ordering a sample is advised to confirm color.
Verified claims
- Texture
- Texture is an artist-canvas-like visual print on a smooth matte vinyl surface, not a raised or tactile texture.
- Cleanability
- Smooth matte vinyl wipes clean and resists moisture.
- Removal
- Removes safely only on smooth drywall with fully cured paint (≥14 days).
- Moisture resistance
- The vinyl is easy to clean and moisture-resistant, making it suitable for bathrooms and kitchens in most cases, but it holds best on smooth, dry surfaces and should be kept away from direct water splash zones or unventilated high-humidity areas.
- Textured wall compatibility
- Not recommended for textured walls; adhesion may fail and removal can damage wall.
- Price position
- At ~$5.80/sq ft, sits between Spoonflower ($5) and Tempaper ($7–11).
- Material quality
- 6-mil commercial-grade vinyl that is removable and moisture-resistant.
- Purchase tradeoffs
- Color can vary from photos due to screen settings and lighting, so order a sample before committing.
- Thickness
- The panel is 6 mil (0.006 inches) thick, among the thickest peel-and-stick options available, and carries commercial-grade durability.
- Pattern repeat
- Pattern repeat is 24.5 x 24.5 inches; panels are 24.5 inches wide with an extra 0.5-inch overlap, so calculate panels by dividing wall width in inches by 24.5 and rounding up.
- Wall flaw coverage
- Hides minor wall imperfections on smooth surfaces and minimizes visible seam lines with its visual pattern and the 0.5-inch panel overlap.
- Commercial-grade durability
- The adhesive vinyl is designated commercial grade and is built to the wear and cleaning standards of high-traffic spaces such as retail shops and hotels, so it withstands daily bumps, scuffs, and wiping down in a home.
- Pattern match
- The checkered pattern likely uses a straight match, but the exact match type is not confirmed on the product page and Artza & Co. directs buyers to contact the brand for precise installation instructions.
- Repositioning
- Panels can be lifted and repositioned repeatedly during installation to fine-tune alignment; there is no permanent bond on first contact, and the adhesive only grips firmly after smoothing.
- Pattern orientation
- The checkered pattern has a defined top and bottom, so every panel must be mounted in the same orientation, and panels should be ordered at the exact wall height because cutting them prevents the pattern from lining up between panels.
- Acclimation
- Panels should rest at room temperature for at least 24 hours before hanging so the vinyl is at its printed dimensions for pattern registration.
