Product Insights
The Taurus Floral Zodiac Poster by Giant Art (79 CAD, in stock) is printed on ISO 9706 archival paper with cotton linters and a pH buffer for colour stability over centuries, while its matte finish eliminates sheen for a watercolour-like depth; however, the open-edition print lacks UV-resistant coating, necessitating display away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Verified claims
- Paper quality
- ISO 9706 paper, pH buffer, cotton linters — colour-stable for centuries.
- Matte finish
- Matte finish eliminates sheen for watercolour-like depth.
- Sunlight exposure
- The product does not specify a UV-resistant coating; display it away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Edition
- Open-edition print; not limited, signed, or numbered.
- Paper longevity
- The museum-quality matte paper is acid-free and lignin-free, which slows yellowing and brittleness and gives the print a stable base that can last decades under proper framing.
- Taurus birth flower
- The poppy is the Taurus birth flower and the primary bloom traditionally assigned to Taurus, which is exactly why this design pairs the sign with red poppies; Taurus also has secondary birth flowers — roses, daisies, lilies of the valley, and violets — so a poppy-only print leads with the sign's most recognizable zodiac floral.
- Paper weight
- The exact paper weight for this Simons SKU isn't published, but the same Miho Art Studio Taurus artwork is produced on 210gsm acid-free paper at other retailers, so expect a medium-weight, smooth matte art stock.
- Ink type
- The listing specifies only ink-jet printing without naming the ink chemistry, and water resistance is not specified; dust the print with a soft, dry cloth rather than a damp one.
- Colour accuracy
- Expect the printed orange to read very close to the product photo but not pixel-identical; on matte white stock, the warm orange tends to look natural and slightly softer rather than over-saturated.
