Product Insights
The Giant Art Italian Menu print, at $48 CAD, offers a museum-quality hand-cut paper collage by Bauhaus-trained artist Rosi Feist, printed in Canada on archival matte paper for color accuracy and longevity. Available in sizes from 8x10 to 30x40, it fits dining tables, kitchen nooks, and sideboards, with the largest size meeting interior-design guidelines for a statement piece. While its artist recognition justifies a ~30% premium over generic prints, it remains an open edition, and sizes under 12x16 are suited for shelves or gallery walls rather than primary wall display—a tradeoff between artistic authenticity and collectibility.
Verified claims
- Dining table
- 30×40 and 24×32 sizes satisfy the two-thirds rule for standard and compact dining tables.
- Kitchen nook
- Kitchen: 18×24 and 12×16 for gaps, 24×32 for a statement.
- Sideboard/buffet
- 18×24 fits narrow consoles up to 36 inches; 24×32 anchors standard 48-inch buffets.
- Alternative uses
- 8×10 for shelves or gallery walls; 12×16 mats to standard 16×20 frame.
- Artist recognition
- Artist's multi-platform presence supports the ~30% premium over generic Italian menu prints.
- Canadian production
- Printed in Canada, which can shorten delivery times for Canadian buyers and avoid cross-border duties compared with imported prints.
- Frame style
- A slim black or natural wood frame complements the print's retro Italian theme.
- Matting
- A white mat with a 2-inch border elevates the print to museum quality and lets it fit a standard 16x20 frame.
- Artistic process
- The original artwork was hand-cut from colored paper using scissors, knives, and glue, and this product is a flat ink-jet reproduction of that handmade collage.
- Archival quality
- Acid- and lignin-free matte paper resists yellowing for over a century.
- Cleaning
- Clean only by dusting with a soft dry microfiber cloth or compressed air.
- Color accuracy
- The print is on acid- and lignin-free archival museum-quality matte paper, which resists yellowing over time, and as an ink-jet print it should reproduce colors accurately.
- Edition
- The listing does not state an edition size, so the print is likely an open edition rather than a limited numbered run.
- Artist background
- Reproduces an original hand-cut paper collage by Bauhaus-educated artist Rosi Feist.
- Value
- Priced at $48 CAD, per square inch it costs 70% less than on Art.com.
- Display
- The listed 30×40 inch size would meet interior-design guidelines for a dining room statement piece, but the 30×40 is not currently selectable; the largest orderable option is 24×32.
- Value vs Art.com
- At $48 CAD, the Simon's 12×16 inch version delivers nearly double the print area of Art.com's 9×12 inch version of the same Rosi Feist design at $50 USD, making it the better per-square-inch value.
- Original collage access
- Feist's original hand-cut paper collages sell for 50–500 EUR, so the $48 CAD print is an entry-level way to own his aesthetic.
- Artist concept
- Feist treats the everyday pizza box and spritz as pop icons, reflecting his stated view that inspiration can come from ordinary objects like a garden chair or rubbish bin.
- Available sizes
- The print is listed from 8 x 10 inches (20.25 x 25.5 cm) to 30 x 40 inches (76.25 x 101.5 cm), but the 30 x 40 option is not currently selectable; the orderable sizes are 8 x 10, 12 x 16, 18 x 24, and 24 x 32 inches.
- Paper surface
- The print is on smooth, matte fine-art paper, not textured canvas, watercolor, or linen stock.
