Deep Research

How the price stacks up against other organic pillowcases

  • As a Simons Maison exclusive designed in Canada, these pillowcases carry a proprietary foliage print absent from generic organic cotton basics, giving them a design-forward value that mass-market commodity sets at this price typically lack.
  • With a 144 threadcount — roughly half the 280–400 range of mid-tier organic sets from Quince and Sijo — these pillowcases prioritize a lighter, airy hand over dense crispness, a quality community reviewers call out as notably soft compared to the scratchiness of Simons’ entry polyester-blend percale.
  • At 20 CAD, this set costs about one-third less than Quince’s organic percale pillowcases ($29.90 USD for two), while still delivering 100% organic cotton — though with a lower 144 threadcount versus Quince’s 280, it fits a budget-minded buyer who wants organic fiber and a soft, lightweight feel instead of crisp, high-threadcount bedding.

How to style botanical print pillowcases

  • Laying these smaller-scale foliage pillowcases on a bed with a larger-scale botanical duvet builds the layered, collected look that design experts describe as creating visual rhythm and preventing the matchy catalog feel.
  • Pairing the Soothing Foliage pillowcases with solid white or cream shams and a textured linen throw at the foot adds visual rest points that, according to home stylists, prevent botanical patterns from feeling chaotic and let the khaki foliage read as a gentle accent.
  • The khaki green of the foliage pairs naturally with dark walnut or teak furnishings; designers explicitly recommend walnut for its ability to ground a khaki-and-beige room and avoid the flatness that results from matching pale woods.
  • Placing the Soothing Foliage pillowcases atop sage green sheets or a sage duvet produces a tonal, nature-derived palette that bedding stylists single out as the quintessential calm, garden-inspired pairing, with the botanical print acting as the focal point.
  • Applying the 60–30–10 bedding formula—60% neutral, 30% floral, 10% accent—treats the Soothing Foliage pillowcases as the 30% floral layer on a bed of solid cream sheets and a white duvet, which stops the botanical print from taking over and anchors the room in calm.
  • The Soothing Foliage print’s hand-drawn khaki leaves fall squarely into the 2026 design shift toward imperfect, sketch-like botanical motifs and earthy muted tones, which textile designers say create a more natural feel and timeless calm than bright, high-contrast florals of past seasons.
  • Throw pillows are the lowest-risk way to bring botanical prints into a bedroom; swapping in the Soothing Foliage pillowcases on a neutral bed refreshes the room seasonably without the cost or commitment of a new duvet—a strategy home stylists recommend for pattern-shy decorators.

What 144 thread count organic cotton feels like

  • With only 144 threads per square inch, the weave is markedly less dense than standard cotton sheets, allowing body heat and moisture to pass through readily—a built-in cooling effect that benefits warm sleepers without relying on synthetic wicking treatments.
  • The low-thread-count construction yields a fabric surface that feels gently textured and cottony rather than glossy or slippery, making these pillowcases a better match for sleepers who prefer a natural fiber feel over the polished glide of high-thread-count sateen.

Q&A

3 answered
How does the softness of these organic cotton pillowcases compare to Simons' percale bedding?

Source Threads

  • User recommends Simons organic cotton Foliage sheets over scratchy percale

I'm not sure exactly why those in particular would so scratchy, but I would just avoid polyester is anything - so anything labeled percale plus at Simons as they have polyester in them. It's terrible for you to sleep in air circulation wise and not nice for you hair and skin long term. I do like the organic cotton sheets at Simons and they come a bunch of colours ( I have the foliage sheet). They're not necessarily sateen or percale, more like a stone wash. I found them to be soft right away and I'm picky about sheets.
