I have a linen shower curtain and don’t use a liner. It gets damp when I shower and dries really fast after. I throw it in the washing machine with my bath mats periodically. Never had a mold issue or anything.

Negative experience with mildew on linen shower curtain
I had one for a few years. You have to bleach it weekly, else you'll get mildew on the bottom of it. You also have to factor it into your travel plans. If you take a shower and leave, you have mildew when you get back. Kind of a pain in the ass.
