Rose Buddha x Ola Volo x I.FIV5

15 Aug 2017

Since the very beginning, respect, love, and joy have guided their business approach.

Driven by these deep-seated values, Rose Buddha's fabric is produced in Laval and the leggings are then made by hand in Beauce. These two entrepreneurs can proudly and confidently say that their leggings are both eco-friendly and ethical!

Each legging is made of a REPREVE-certified textile and contains 6 recycled plastic bottles. Even though the leggings are made of plastic, their 4-way stretch fabric is extremely breathable. What's more, the fabric's slimming fibre helps it fit all silhouettes and it even has 50 SPF sun protection. There's nothing better to meet your specific day-to-day needs and let you practice yoga whenever you like!

To create exclusive styles for i.FiV5, Rose Buddha called on the talents of Vancouver illustrator Ola Volo. Madeleine and Maxime are huge fans of Volo’s work, identifying with the artist’s vision and her love for natural elements and people. The three modern and whimsical prints created for the Simons collaboration are greatly inspired by Volo's Russian heritage. Folkloric traits and shapes reminiscent of Eastern Europe fuse with the illustrator's love for Canada's West Coast and the abundant flora and fauna that's found there.

For Rose Buddha, having their products made available at Simons was the realisation of a project that had been in the works for a long time. This company had created such a buzz at the i.FiV5 department that the Simons team had to contact them.

“This trendsetting product aligns perfectly with Simons' environmental policy. It's a high-quality item that respects the planet, and without a doubt, it has a place at Simons.” - Nicolas Pilote, i.FiV5 Buying Director

Rose Buddha is the result of Madeleine and Maxime's long-lasting friendship. Both women wanted to found a company based on respecting nature and people that would let them combine work and family. Looking to the future, they dream of expanding their business and offering new products while still staying true to their values.
