Product Insights
Huha's Plain Mineral Boyshort is a performance-oriented underwear leveraging TENCEL Modal Micro (0.9 dtex) for silk-like softness, moisture wicking (11-13% regain), and breathability, combined with a permanent zinc-infused gusset that retains antimicrobial function for 100 washes and clinically relieves eczema and allergies. The closed-loop, OEKO-TEX certified production and FSC-certified materials underscore its low environmental impact. However, wearers report that leg openings frequently roll up during activity, the back seam can be uncomfortable, and durability is mixed—though Huha replaces faulty pairs. The tradeoff is a premium price ($32 CAD) that buyers with skin sensitivities or active needs find worthwhile, while those seeking basic underwear may not. Sizing is true to hip measurement, and the waistband stays put without digging.
- Lab testing
Lab testing verifies permanent zinc infusion, 100-wash durability, and clinical eczema and allergy relief.

Why this is supported
TENCEL Modal Micro fibers are spun to 0.9 dtex — half the thickness of standard modal (1.3–1.7 dtex) — producing a silk-like surface.
MicroModal uses significantly finer fibers than standard modal — typically around 0.9 dtex versus 1.3–1.7 dtex for standard modal.

Modal fibers absorb 11–13% moisture and the micro fabric is lighter than standard modal, keeping skin drier and cooler.
Why this is supported
Modal fibers naturally absorb 11–13% of their weight in moisture at 65% humidity — nearly double cotton's 7–8% — actively wicking perspiration away from skin.

Super confortable.
Waist band is a waste of time
Not a fan of this waistband. Its tight, digs in creating “the muffin”. Wish it was the same fabric as the pant. Soft and unrestrictive. Like the Huha Brief style underpant, so comfortable.

Regret!

Omg you need this, I usually don’t write reviews but try it out and see for yourself!
I had no idea this fabric was naturally antibacterial! The lining is much larger than other brands and made with fibers infused with zinc oxide. As someone prone to UTIs, this has been an absolute game changer. The buttery soft comfort is beyond words. I immediately ordered more—I got a size M, and it fits perfectly: secure but not tight, like the most gentle, supportive hug for my huha. No itchiness for the first time in forever—it’s clear the material makes all the difference. Get one to test it out like I did, honestly totally worth the money.

Positive experience with odor absorption and travel comfort
This thread convinced me to give them a try. I am very happy with them. I now wear them for air travel (I travel a lot for work, often multiple days of travel and long flights) and they are SO comfortable! I also wore them to do field work and found them so comfortable. They seem to absorb odour and sweat so well. I will be buying more.

Experience with boxer style, double layer, and moisture wicking
I’ve bought a pair of their boxers recently that I’ve worn 2 or 3 times so far. They’re thicker than normal undies because they’re double layered, but so far I haven’t had any problems with them. I’m planning to buy a pair of their briefs to try out. Tencel (brand name- the generic fabric name is modal) is a synthetic yes, but it’s been engineered in such a way that it wicks moisture. Almost all my underwear is modal, and for me it works fine.

Sensory-friendly mid boxer style with a note on durability
Yes I love them! I have really bad sensory issues with underwear and the mid boxers are my favourite underwear I’ve ever purchased. Plus I’m in Canada so supporting a Canadian business is really important to me. They’re expensive, but make sure to use their first time customer discount and you can also get bundle discounts and some of their colours are on sale. I also got the briefs, thong, and regular boxers. The gusset is wide which is ideal and the briefs are pretty comfy (for my sensitive brain) but they do show panty lines so I just wear them around the house. The mid boxers don’t roll up (for reference I’m wearing an XS and I’m 5’6” and about 130lbs) which is of course great and they’re so comfortable. I think they’re worth it. I had an issue where the mix boxers started falling apart after only one wash (and I washed them as they direct you to) which was disappointing, but they sent me a new pair. I think it was just a weird pair. I highly recommend! They’ve got so many different styles and colours.
