I mostly wore converse hightops everywhere and been looking at this exact pair of shoes for a while now and finally decided to just buy it and it's really great. Very very comfy and wide, fits great with lots of colours so putting together fits isn't difficult and it's got a dad shoe vibe, which I personally like. I think if you like how they look, you should go for them! Not everyone has the same taste so don't worry too much about your friends' opinions

Everyone and their mum is wearing the 530’s - it’s almost guaranteed you will see someone wearing your exact pair if you’re out and about. V2k’s are way less common in my experience. I’d go with them if you wanna stand out (plus they look cooler)

Comfort and comparison to other New Balance models
TTS for me. Some people size down for a snug fit. Honestly, I’ve had 3 pair because I love the feel/comfort. They’re pretty lightweight, breathable and decent support without being too plushy. I would definitely give them a shot, they’re probably overall my most worn pair. If you want a heftier shoe, probably a 993 or something in the 990 range. If you want something more plush, probably a 990v6 or a 1080.

Moderate durability with heel wear
I’ve had these shoes for just over a year and the inside of the heel has been giving out for the past 6mo. Even in rotation with many other shoes. I love the feel and style of them, it’s just that the durability isn’t the best at all

Sizing advice method
The sizing for the 530s is a bit all over the place. Here's what you need to do: 1. Go to [this size chart](https://linkopener.net/new-balance-sizing) on their website. It's a custom link I've built that will redirect you to the correct size chart for your country (New Balance never labels their size charts for any country which leads to problems). 2. Compare your measurements with the chart. 3. Simply go HALF size smaller than what the chart recommends (if you're a man). Women can go a FULL size down. This is the ideal method i have found for the 530s.
