expensive but worth it: mansur gavriel dreams or loeffler randall landon flats. both come up higher on the instep which I've found make them both more comfortable and longer lasting, especially with the wear and tear in the city. Worth noting that Everlane has a similar model - I had in black and white but both pairs wore out extremely quickly and at $150 each I thought it a bit ridiculous. I've had my MG pairs for over 2 years and will probably re-sole to get another year out of them, and would re-purchase again (and again). Haven't had the Loeffler ones for too long but have had good luck with their quality in the past (and they tend to go on sale at dept stores more often).
