Product Insights
The Jacquemus Le Petit Turismo Handbag, priced at 1600 CAD and currently in stock, represents a clear quality improvement over earlier models, entirely handcrafted in Italy as part of the brand's shift to Italian manufacturing—a process documented through a series with Venetian artisans. The burgundy shade reads as a rich wine-red, leaning red in natural light. However, the bag's bowling bag silhouette dictates handheld or elbow carry only, and its interior accommodates only small essentials, with large phones needing to lie flat. Durability is comparable to Coach, though buyer opinions on quality are split. On sale from a past season, indicating limited remaining stock, buyers report that at this price the quality-to-price ratio exceeds expectations upon unboxing.

Deep Research
Italian craftsmanship and construction quality
- Jacquemus transitioned its entire leather-goods manufacturing to Italy — moving from earlier production in Portugal and Spain — so the 'Made in Italy' stamp on the Petit Turismo indicates complete domestic production from cutting to finishing, not just a final assembly operation.
- The Le Turismo bag line was the subject of a 'Discover Le Turismo Savoir-faire, Handcrafted in Italy' documentary project with Venetian leather workshop Artigiani Veneziani, which included filming inside the actual workshop and craftspeople — providing a rare, tangible link between this handbag and a specific atelier of Italian artisans.

Q&A
7 answered- What is the handle drop length? Can it be worn comfortably on the shoulder or is it only for handheld use?
- The handle drop length isn't specified in the product details, but given the compact 5.75" height and rolled leather top handles, this bag is designed primarily for handheld or elbow carry. It's unlikely to fit comfortably over the shoulder.
- Is the grained leather full-grain or top-grain? What type of leather is used and where is it sourced?
- The product describes the leather as 'luxurious genuine leather' with a grained texture, but it does not specify whether it is full-grain or top-grain. It is made in Italy, though the exact sourcing region is not disclosed.
- How does the burgundy color appear in natural light? Does it lean more red or brown?
- Burgundy is a deep red with subtle brown undertones; in natural light it appears as a rich wine-red, leaning slightly more red than brown. The exact shade may vary slightly depending on lighting conditions.
- What are the interior capacity and organization like? Can it fit a standard smartphone (e.g., iPhone Pro Max), a small wallet, and keys?
- The interior is compact: 5.75"H x 9.75"L x 4"D. An iPhone Pro Max (approx. 6.3" tall) likely will not fit vertically due to the 5.75" height. It can comfortably hold a small wallet, keys, and a smaller phone or essentials.
- Is this bag from a current season collection or is it older stock? The sale price suggests it might be discontinued.
- This bag is likely from a past season, as indicated by the marked-down sale price. Jacquemus regularly updates collections, and the Le Petit Turismo may be discontinued or being phased out to make room for new arrivals.
- Is the quality of the Jacquemus Turismo good?
- It appears to be better than older Jacquemus models, with many users satisfied with the leather quality, though some report it doesn't match brands like Coach.
- Is the bag worth buying?
- Many users recommend it for its unique design and improved quality, but advise seeing it in person due to potential quality inconsistency.

Direct comparison of Turismo quality to Coach and note on model improvement
I have a jacquemus turismo in suede and I'd say it's quality is comparable to my coach bags (both 2010s and 2020s models). Turismo is a newer model, so I'd say as the models come out, jacquemus quality only seems to increase.
