Actually, sizing up advice will make the problem worse here. Adding more fabric horizontally will completely swallow your legs. I say this as a shortie not blessed with long legs, I cannot wear wide leg without looking bad.

Stiff denim and stretch variations in blue vs black
I love the Levi’s rib cage jeans - high rise, stiff denim and they’re not cropped. I have them in the same size in blue and black, note that the blue denim seems to be stiffer and the black is stretchier/more elastic.

Ribcage wide leg drapes well and isn't too stiff
I have the ribcage wide in a size up and I love them. The fabric seems to drape well and doesn't feel too stiff.
