I hate to say this. But, it might be worth it. Hear me out. I got 6 yards of a “busy print” fabric from a reseller, shit it’s almost 10 years ago, that turned out to be Liberty of London. It was so much nicer than what I had been sewing with. I had been using “cotton lawn” but the quality was worlds apart. I still have the dress I made. It looks just as good today as the day I finished it. If I can lose the last of this baby weight I’ll wear it again one day. How the heck do you gain weight breastfeeding with the second kid when you lost a ton the first time around anyway? Point being the stuff was a luxury and I felt spoiled. If you just want the print half a yard could stretch pretty far from a quilting aspect.

I made a skirt out of Liberty silk and - omigod - it is a dream. The fabric is so gorgeous. The float, the pattern, the colour, the quality. I lucked out and got a remnant on sale but I would consider buying full price for the right project.

Liberty Tana Lawn considered most luxurious cotton, feels like silk
Liberty of London Tana Lawn is the most luxurious woven cotton fabric I've ever touched. It generally retails for about $40+/yard and is worth it. It is exquisitely printed designs and feels like silk. I'm skeptical about the Shiplap listings--Liberty has other base fabrics, but I can't imagine authentic Liberty fabrics selling for $12.50/yd, let alone $7.98. The Liberty cottons are mostly or all 54" wide, too. There are a lot of counterfeit items sold online, whether on Amazon or other sites. Sometimes the retailers are fooled into thinking they are legit Liberty fabrics.

To add to what others have said, I like working with them for two main reasons: 1. they are extremely smooth and really pleasant to work with. Compared to the quilting cotton I usually use, they're an 11/10, and I'm pro-anything that makes sewing even more fun for me. And 2, the yardage I've sewn with is completely on-grain, that is to say the warp and weft meet at a 90 degree angle, like woven fabric is supposed to but almost never does.
