Product Insights
The Simons Asymmetric Openwork Ring is a $12 statement piece with a 9mm band and openwork cutouts that give it a substantial, airy presence, available in a near-black Charcoal or warm Golden Yellow finish; however, it fits most comfortably only on the pinky, its openwork edges snag delicate fabrics, and the metal reportedly stains skin green, tarnishes with moisture, and may break or lose finish with regular wear, making it best suited for occasional use and requiring careful handling and removal before water or sweat.
Verified claims
- Fit
- Buyers report the one-size ring fits only their pinky.
- Design
- The ring has an openwork, asymmetric spiral design with geometric cutouts that let skin show through; its openwork edges can catch on delicate fabrics.
- Material
- Buyers report skin staining and ring falling apart on first wear.
- Durability
- At $12, the ring may break or lose finish, making it best for occasional wear.
- Visual presence
- 9mm band and openwork cutouts give the ring a substantial, airy presence on the finger.
- Sizing
- The one-size ring fits most comfortably on the pinky and suits smaller hands best; larger fingers may find it tight or constricting.
- Color finish
- The ring is offered in Golden Yellow and Charcoal finishes: Golden Yellow is a warm gold tone, while Charcoal is a dark, near-black, gunmetal-like alternative. The base material is listed only as 'golden metal,' so the exact metal or alloy is not confirmed.
- Skin reaction
- Can leave green stains on skin and, as a likely base-metal alloy, may trigger reactions in people with base-metal sensitivities.
- Styling
- A 9mm statement ring with a geometric, openwork, asymmetric spiral design that reads as artsy and sophisticated, with a minimal, modern feel.
- Moisture care
- The ring may tarnish and stain skin; remove before water and sweat.
- Structural care
- The ring's openwork may snag fabrics and break if forced; handle with care.
- Durability
- Treat this as a fashion ring for occasional wear, not daily heavy use.
- Adjustability
- Reviewers report the one-size band does not widen and is too firm to adjust by hand; do not bend it to resize, as flexing an openwork band with a gold-toned finish can crack or flake that finish.
- Stacking
- The 9mm-wide raised openwork spiral is best worn alone or on an index finger; when stacked against other rings it tends to overlap and catch on neighboring bands, so pair it with a very thin, flat band and leave a small gap if stacking.
- Cleaning and storage
- Remove the ring before washing hands, swimming, or applying lotions; store it in a dry pouch or jewelry box away from humidity, and clean it with a soft, dry cloth to maintain its shine.

A pinky ring for delicate, everyday styling
Worn as a pinky ring, this asymmetric openwork piece is appreciated for its delicate look, and its small, rigid band is reported to fit comfortably on the little finger. Note that it runs small and cannot be adjusted, so many buyers find it wearable only on the pinky, if at all. Some reviewers also report durability issues, including rings that unglue on first wear or lose their finish within days.[1]
Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Asymmetric Openwork Ring: Choose this if you want a delicate, decorative pinky ring: its small, rigid circumference fits comfortably on the little finger, and wearers appreciate the asymmetric spiral design of three intertwined loops in golden metal, available in Charcoal or Golden Yellow. Note that it comes in one size, cannot be adjusted, and is reported too small for most ring fingers, with some reviews describing a short lifespan and possible green skin stains.[1,2] | Openwork Flower Ring: Choose this if you want an adjustable one-size ring with a charming floral look: it is a polished gold-tone openwork design with two flower motifs on a thin curved 1.5 cm wide band, and reviewers describe it as lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. Its easy resizeability suits fluctuating finger sizes. Note that the interior may tarnish over time, so the analysis suggests it is better suited to occasional wear.[3,4] | Sphere Open Ring: Choose this if you want a minimalist open ring: it has a thin 1 mm round band with an open gap and two smooth, polished spheres of different sizes (up to 6 mm wide) in a high-gloss, mirror-like finish. It comes in one size with an Assorted color listing. Note that the listing describes the material inconsistently as gold-plated stainless steel in one section and brass in another, so the exact composition is unresolved.[5,6] |

Size of ring
Very pretty and quite solid but not sure how the one size works as well. It's too firm a ring to adjust and I don't want to force it just in case it breaks. Sadly I won't be able to wear it because it's too small for my fingers.
