Product Insights

The Serenade Two-Tier Chain by Twenty Compass delivers a perfectly spaced layered look with a single clasp that prevents tangles for $45 CAD. Its stainless steel core outlasts brass alternatives, while 14k gold plating develops a gentle patina on inner edges and wears at contact points, requiring care—avoid lotions, perfumes, and water. Hypoallergenic and nickel-free, it adapts to crew and V-necks with an extender. Hand-assembled in Montreal and tested for plating adhesion and link strength, it is exclusive to Simons.

Verified claims

Layering
Single clasp delivers a perfectly spaced two-tier look with no tangles.
Value
At $45 CAD, it delivers a layered look without the hassle of separate chains.
Patina
14k gold plated sterling silver develops a gentle patina on inner link edges over time.
Plating wear
Gold plating wears at contact points, creating a soft patina; steel base resists discoloration.
Care
Avoid lotions, perfumes, and water; store in a dry pouch after each wear.
Base metal
The necklace has a stainless steel base, not sterling silver, and that base outlasts brass competitors' gold-plated necklaces at the same price.
Hypoallergenicity
The 14-carat gold plating over stainless steel acts as a nickel barrier, but the listing does not state the necklace is hypoallergenic or nickel-free; the steel base resists corrosion and skin discoloration better than brass.
Neckline fit
Two-tier chains adapt to crew and V-necks; extender fine-tunes drop length.
Brand heritage
Handcrafted Canadian necklace inspired by the founder's grandmother's vintage collection and quality-tested to exceed expectations.
Design
Canadian minimalist two-tier necklace with a single clasp for easy layering.
Wear character
Gold finish softens on inner link edges over time, creating a lived-in effect.
Exclusivity
Exclusive to Simons, designed in Canada.
Quality
The brand states each necklace is tested to ensure it exceeds expectations.
Craftsmanship
Each necklace is hand-assembled link by link, reducing burrs and weak seams.
Stacking with other necklaces
A reviewer reports the necklace pairs well with other necklaces and also looks good worn on its own.
Moisture tolerance
Occasional light rain or sweat won't ruin the necklace, because the stainless steel base resists the rapid corrosion that plagues gold-plated brass.
Scratch resistance
The 14-carat gold plating over stainless steel resists scratches better than vermeil.

Very Pretty

Laura H.

This little chain is a good value. It looks more expensive than it is. It's nice and simple.

Dainty but chic

Camila A.

It's so beautiful! It's dainty but not too small. It pairs amazingly with other necklaces and it even looks wonderful by itself. It's classy but chic, not boring. I bought it with the Bordeaux set and wow, soooo cute!
