Vivienne Westwood
Nano Solitare Earrings
Vivienne Westwood Nano Solitaire Earrings are brass stud earrings with a polished silver-tone finish, featuring the brand's iconic orb motif and a single round Swarovski crystal set at the center. They measure 12 mm in width, secure with a push-back closure for pierced ears, and come with a box and signature dust bag. Note: Some users report that the crystal is glued in (the prongs are decorative) and may fall out over time, and a single replacement earring is not available for purchase.

Product Insights
Vivienne Westwood’s Nano Solitare Earrings are a 145 CAD in-stock, 5-star-rated (2 reviews, 5-point scale) small orb stud whose central idea is the house’s punk-futurist orb—the Crown Jewels orb merged with Saturn’s ring—rendered as a flat, cut-out graphic; the 12 mm width is almost entirely that openwork orb rather than the single central Swarovski crystal, which is precision-cut with up to 100 facets for sharp sparkle but is glued in place rather than prong-set, so it cannot be re-tightened. The promise is an ultra-light 1.5 g-per-earring, wearable signature at a fixed 145 CAD across both Silver and Golden Yellow colourways, with standard 20G/18G butterfly-back posts that fit most healed lobes and provide extra length for thicker or swelling-prone ones; the tradeoff is that the silver-tone plating sits over a brass body, not solid sterling silver, so it tarnishes with moisture or perfume and can show warm metal through with wear, requiring dry, soft-cloth care and mindful wear to maintain the finish.
Verified claims
- Design symbolism
- The orb merges the Crown Jewels' orb with Saturn's ring, signaling punk-futurism.
- Brand legacy
- The orb is the house's declared signature, repeated across its jewellery line.
- Build detail
- Flat two-dimensional orb, cut out around the Saturn ring, framing the centre stone.
- On-ear presence
- At 1.5 g the pair wears light, though the 12 mm is nearly all orb, not stone.
- Finish durability
- Silver-tone plating over a brass body tarnishes with moisture and shows warm metal through with wear.
- Post length
- Standard 20-gauge posts fit most lobes, with extra length for thicker or swelling-prone ones.
- Stone
- Brass set with a single Swarovski crystal at the orb centre, not a cubic zirconia
- Crystal setting
- The crystal is glued into the orb, not a true prong setting, so it cannot be re-tightened
- Plating
- Silver-tone plating over a brass base, not solid sterling silver.
- Care
- Keep it dry and clean with a soft dry cloth — the plating tarnishes with moisture or perfume.
- Size
- The 12 mm width is the whole openwork orb, not the centre stone.
- Sparkle
- Bright, sharp light comes from precision-cut facets, not crystal size.
- Silhouette
- The orb is a flat cut-out graphic, keeping the small stud crisp.
- Cut quality
- Each stone is cut with up to 100 facets to micron tolerances for sharper light.
- Post gauge
- Butterfly-back posts run the standard 20G or 18G gauge, so they fit most healed lobe piercings.
- Weight
- Each earring weighs 1.5 g, light enough not to drag on the lobe.
- Colourway
- Silver matches the listing's white-metal orb; Golden Yellow suits a warm-gold stack.

Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Nano Solitare Earrings: Choose this if you want a delicate, everyday stud featuring Vivienne Westwood's iconic orb motif, with a polished silver-tone finish, cut-out detailing around the Saturn ring, and a central faceted stone. The small size (about 0.8 cm tall, 1.1 cm wide, and 1.5 grams per the brand's listing) with a push back closure for pierced ears suits subtle daily wear, and a box with signature dust bag is included. Note that material listings vary — brass with cubic zircons or Swarovski crystal — and one Reddit commenter believed the decorative prongs mean the stones are glued in, though that report may not refer to this exact model.[1,2,3,4] | Mini Bas Relief Earrings: Choose this if you want Vivienne Westwood's signature orb design in a luxurious finish intricately inlaid with pavé-set Swarovski crystals on a brass base, in a 17 mm stud with push back closure for pierced ears, available in Silver or Golden Yellow, one size. Based on customer reviews, they are described as beautiful and comfortable for a few hours of wear, such as a dinner date or party, and a hit as a gift for a birthday or special occasion. Be aware that some reviewers find them heavier than expected, reporting ear fatigue after several hours, and the wide shape can look disproportionate on smaller ears or for those who prefer subtle jewellery.[5,6,7] | Solid Orb Earrings: Choose these if you want Vivienne Westwood's iconic orb silhouette — a spherical stud with a surrounding ring and small cross-like emblem — in a gold or silver finish to add an elegant touch to formal or upscale outfits. They are made of brass with a push back closure for pierced ears, and one reviewer found them light enough to wear comfortably for long periods. Note that while a box and signature dust bag are included, one reviewer felt the presentation fell short of luxury expectations, which may matter if you're giving them as a gift.[8,9,10] |

Happy

Beautiful
I am so happy I got these. They’re beautiful and shiny. The only thing is the post are really long which I suppose can be good or bad. I hate that they’re not solid sterling silver but overall decent purchase.

Impossible to buy single Nano stud earring replacement
unfortunately you’re not going to find anyone, authorized seller or second hand, selling a single earring from this set unless by some miracle someone just so happens to be selling just the one. Your options would be to open up that drain pipe and get it out, order a new pair, wait practically forever until someone posts a single stud from that set up for sale, or if you want to go asymmetrical you can get this single stud earring of a different design over on [Ssense](https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/vivienne-westwood/silver-suzon-stud-single-earring/15105571).

Fake prongs and glued-in diamonds cause stones to fall out
I believe with the Nano earrings, the prongs are fake and just there for decoration. Which leads me to believe that these are glued in. I hear a lot of complaints of people's diamonds falling out of their VW jewelry so they use E600 to glue it back into place. I'd use a Q-tip to dab the E600 glue onto the jewelry setting and then place the diamond in. Leave it alone for 24 hours.
