Product Insights
Simons offers a set of two colourful barrettes for 9 CAD, currently in stock, designed as accent pieces for small sections on fine to medium hair—not suitable for full buns—and made from acetate that stays durable when kept away from heat and harsh chemicals.
Verified claims
- Hair type fit
- Medium grip typical of acetate hair clips; suitable for fine to medium hair and small to medium sections, while thick or very heavy hair may find them less secure.
- Hair suitability
- Accent barrettes for small to medium sections such as front pieces or half-up styles; best on fine to medium hair, not full buns.
- Care
- Acetate resists cracking under normal use but can become brittle with prolonged exposure to extreme heat, direct sunlight, or harsh chemicals like hairspray and acetone.
- Metal tarnish care
- Store the barrettes in an airtight container in a dry room and wipe the metal parts with a dry microfiber cloth after each use to prevent tarnishing; if tarnish appears, use a dedicated silver polishing cloth rather than all-purpose metal polish.
- Snag prevention
- The metal clasp and hinge sit on the underside against the hair, and while smooth metal usually slides without snagging, the hinge and spring area can occasionally catch fine strands; feeding the clip in at a slight angle rather than dragging it straight through helps avoid pulling.
- Length measurement
- The 2.25-inch (5.5 cm) specification is the overall barrette length measured end to end, not just the visible acetate portion.
- Colour consistency
- The two acetate pieces may vary slightly in shade and depth between production runs; expect colours in the same family as the photos with minor variation rather than an exact, pixel-perfect match.

| Colourful Barrettes Set Of 2: Choose this if you want a two-piece snap-clip set in acetate and silver metal, with glossy red and dark brown tops and a slim 2.25-inch (5.5 cm) length for everyday hair accessorizing. Note that this one-size variant comes only in the assorted red-and-brown pairing, so it won't suit shoppers looking for a matching pair or other colors.[1,2] | Pin-Dot Barrettes Set Of 2: Choose this if you want a set of 2 snap-style barrettes in a playful polka-dot look, available in Patterned Black or Patterned White. Each piece is about 3 inches (7.5 cm) long with an elongated teardrop outline, glossy enamel top, and a visible silvery metal snap mechanism. Note the listing lists plastic and metal without specifying which component each material applies to.[3,4] | Matte Rectangular Barrettes Set Of 2: Choose this if you want a matching pair of simple rectangular barrettes: the set includes two identical clips with a matte-finish plastic frame, central cutout, and silvery metal snap clip, each measuring 3 inches (8 cm) long and offered in one size. They come in Emerald/Kelly Green, Blue, Pink, and Golden Yellow. Note the frames are plastic and metal, so this suits shoppers seeking lightweight, minimalist clips rather than ornate or embellished designs.[5,6] |
