Padror Oak Tr Derby Shoe Men
The Kleman Padror Oak TR is a men's derby shoe made in France with a pebble-grain calfskin leather upper, woven toe panel, contrast stitching, and a chunky rubber lug sole. It serves as a casual-to-dress shoe suitable for everyday wear with jeans or chinos, though Reddit reviewers note it is heavy and not ideal for extensive walking. Key specifications include a padded leather-lined footbed, non-skid rubber outsole, and typical sizing runs slightly large, with a cemented construction that limits resoling.

Product Insights
The Kleman Padror Oak Tr Derby Shoe Men, originally designed for SNCF railway workers in the 1990s and still made to that specification, offers a chunky Tyrolean silhouette with double eyelets and scalloped moc-toe stitching. Its cemented construction keeps the price at 325 CAD—about a third of a Paraboot Michael—but prevents resoling, so the shoe must be replaced when the tread wears. Buyers report a generous fit (sizing slightly large, with costly US returns) and no break-in period, but caution against 10,000-step days due to weight and stiff sole. The 100% calf leather, vegetable-tanned from an eco-responsible European tannery, develops patina and pebble grain over time. The style pairs best with relaxed clothing and boxy trousers, and is chunkier than product photos suggest.

Watch Out For
Compared To
vs Paraboot Michael
The Padror is seen as the budget alternative; Paraboot offers superior construction (Norwegian welt), better leather, and greater durability but at a much higher price point.
vs Beckett Simonon Theo
The Theo is lighter and sleeker, but the Padror is chunkier; both are cemented and offer good value, but the Padror is more robust in appearance.
vs Pellet Macho
The Pellet Macho is a closer visual match to the Paraboot Michael but also cemented; some prefer it for its slimmer profile.
vs Collegium
Collegium is considered trend-chasing and lower quality; Kleman is preferred in comparisons.

Kleman break-in and sizing experience
I don’t know about the first shoe but I have a pair of Klemens. They broke in really quickly and feel great. The sizing is a little weird though, I would check your local Nordstrom if they have any in stock and try them on before you buy.

Not recommended for extensive walking
I can't speak to Paraboots, but I have something similar (Kleman Padrors) and I wouldn't recommend them for 10k+ steps a day. They're comfortable enough but they're still clunky leather shoes.

Personal experience with sizing and aesthetics
I bought a pair earlier this year. The shoes themselves are great, I got the black pebble grain. As some people have said, they do look chunkier in person but if you wear any clothing that’s remotely boxy it looks way better than slimmer alternatives. I have wide flat feet, and the one complaint I do have is the website told me to size up if I was in between sizes (normally a US 9.5), I had to return my first pair and size down to a 9 which meant I had to pay import fees twice, ended up being like $100 total for that. No break-in period, but yeah don’t expect them to be welted or anything.

Inexpensive alternative to Paraboot
Those are solid, a more inexpensive option is the Kleman Padror! These are an amazing alternative if you don’t plan on spending $$$$.

Versatile and stylish, sizing note
I did end up getting the Padrors and I’m into them. I’ve worn them with a suit and with everyday jeans. They go with everything. A wee bit bigger than expected. I’m usually a 10.5 in US so I got the 44s, but they’re just a little bit big - with thicker socks, though, they’re pretty spot on. Overall, big recommend.
