Product Insights
The Oval Sunglasses from Saint Laurent reference Yves Saint Laurent's 1970s glasses and Vaccarello's runway archive, with temple engraving marking the post-2012 Slimane rebrand. At $650 CAD, buyers criticize the non-polarized lenses and view the price as paying for brand cachet and design rather than optical quality. The heritage oval silhouette and high-gloss acetate add genuine brand value, but close replicas for $65 USD create authentication challenges. The frame has a weighty polished acetate feel from Kering Eyewear, and the unboxing ritual reflects brand heritage. Fit is unisex for oval, square, and heart-shaped faces. Discounts around $135 USD at retailers like Nordstrom Rack are available, but authenticity must be verified. Frame quality ranks slightly better than Dior and Gucci but inferior to specialist brands.

Criticism of non-polarized lenses at high price
I understand if this is to someone else’s style, but I just don’t understand charging this much for sunglasses and then not bothering to polarize them.

Concerns about authenticity of Saint Laurent sunglasses cases and serial codes
Girl did you ever find out? I’m wanting some glasses that look legit they have a serial code(but I just found out the fakes now also have serial codes too smh) but the case looks like this one and it’s throwing me off bc all the real ones I have look like the first one you have too.

Quality assessment of Saint Laurent sunglasses vs other fashion brands
Saint Laurent's Kering are doing a kinda better job than Luxottica and LVMH lately, but that’s not saying much. Definitely none of those brands are worth what you’re paying for if you want too both frame quality. But if what you want is branding and design, Saint Laurent is the best option there.
