Product Insights

Bottega Veneta's aviator sunglasses embody the brand's quiet-luxury ethos with a logo-free design, artisanal craftsmanship featuring flush hinges and polished acetate, and a retail price of $650 that places them against Tom Ford and four times Ray-Ban. The wider 17mm bridge and 56mm lens suit heart and oval faces, but the non-adjustable frame can cause drop arms to slide, and buyers consider them ideal for seated social settings rather than active walks. Keep away from acetone, alcohol, hairspray, perfumes, and heat above 60°C—though scratches on the deep-polish acetate finish are fixable, cleaning requires only the included microfiber cloth. Authenticity is a tradeoff: lower prices likely indicate replicas or factory samples without full retail packaging and Kering Eyewear barcode stickers.

Verified claims

Design philosophy
Aviator is logo-free per Bottega Veneta’s 'When your own initials are enough' ethos.
Craftsmanship
Accumulation of artisanal decisions — flush hinges, clean lines, polished acetate.
Market position
Quiet-luxury brand at $650, competing with Tom Ford, 4× Ray-Ban.
Fit
Non-adjustable frame (56-17-145); drop arms slide, per buyers.
Authenticity
Authentic factory samples may sell at deep discounts without full retail packaging.
Face shape
Wider 17mm bridge avoids nose pinch; 56mm lens fits heart and oval faces.
Use case
Buyers say it’s ideal for seated social settings, not active walks.
Packaging and labels
Genuine Bottega sunglasses include Kering Eyewear packaging and barcode stickers.
Pricing
Retail price is $650; far lower prices indicate replicas or store samples.
Golden details
Metal and acetate frame with gold-toned alloy accents (not solid gold).
Acetate finish
Acetate frame has a deep polish; light scratches can be wet-sanded out.
Care
Acetate warps above 60°C; avoid acetone and resting on head.
Restoration
Acetate's gloss is polished-in, not coated, so scratches are fixable.
Cleaning
Wipe with the included microfiber cloth only, never with paper products.
Sensitivity
Keep away from acetone, alcohol, hairspray, perfumes, and heat over 60°C.

Community Q&A

How can I tell if Bottega Veneta sunglasses are authentic?
Check for Kering packaging details, barcode stickers, and clean packaging; genuine pairs are made by Kering Eyewear.

Source Threads

  • Authentication of Bottega Veneta Sunglasses

Incorrect, these are legit and the packaging is correct, they are made by Kering Eyewear, same brand that makes Gucci,YSL,Chloe,Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and a few others. They are very likely samples given to stores to use as sample/try on pairs and that’s why a handful of sellers can afford to sell them at such a discount. Do your research before rambling off things that are what you think instead of facts. I’m a product photographer for website that sells high end menswear and accessories, I’ve been doing this for 16 years and have photographed many pairs of eyewear by both Kering and Luxotica and others, everything here looks correct with these in terms of the paperwork, box and barcode stickers.

  • Review of Bottega Veneta aviator style replica sunglasses

The other pair is the one that originally made me want to purchase — the stylish drop-arm design. They look extremely cool, but I have to say, they do slide down a bit. The arms are mostly for design and don’t provide a very secure fit. They’re perfect for sitting stylishly at a party, but not ideal for an active walk in the sun.
