The Signature Lens Cuffed Tuque is a chunky rib-knit beanie crafted from pure wool, featuring an unsewn cuff and C.P. Company's signature lens badge at the front. This cold-weather accessory traces its lens detail to Massimo Osti's Mille Miglia rally jackets, which originally integrated functional goggles for open-car racing; on this hat, the lens serves as a heritage-inspired design element. Made in Italy, the tuque is intended for everyday winter wear, offering warmth and a utilitarian aesthetic.

Product Insights

The Signature Lens Cuffed Tuque by C.P. Company features a permanently sewn lens badge rooted in the 1988 Mille Miglia rally jacket, now serving as a decorative emblem and anonymity aid. At $245 CAD, it offers an accessible entry into Massimo Osti's design legacy compared to Stone Island hats, but the lens badge carries a dual meaning: rally heritage and hooligan subculture association, which some buyers use to obscure identity, posing a tradeoff for heritage wearers due to potential negative attention and aging risk.

  • Historical origin and modern use of CP Company goggles

They originally were on My the Mille Jackets which were the original jackets created by Massimo Osti for racing the mille miglia rally race in Italy. Most of the cars were open top so he incoprated the goggles into the hood to protect the drivers, it was an all in one jacket for every weather. They still add them now but they’re more of a nod to the past and Massimo Osti as no one uses the jackets for rally racing. Usually young lads use the goggles to hide their identities so they can act like hooligans.
