It seems that is exactly what might have happened. The shirt is authentic but they do 2 versions of it and there is where the mix match came in. I’m sure they also take pictures while authenticating and verified it compared to mine. They went back to the listing and realized it was a mistake. At the end, obviously somewhat happy with result but still wanted the embroidered version.
