In partnership with Montreal's MURAL Festival, Canadian artist Mort brought a mural to life in the Djab department of our Downtown Montreal store.
Titled SAD—an acronym for Spectrum and Differences—his work went on to inspire an eponymous collection with the same intention at heart: to celebrate all the things that make each person unique, both inside and out.
Deepy influenced by '90s-2000s skate culture, Japanese streetwear, and haute couture, Mort puts an emphasis on the butterfly motif as a universal symbol of metamorphosis.
Rich with meaning, the contrast between the collection's name and acronym highlights how important it is to embrace our differences, not be sad about them.
In all their shapes and colours, the butterflies created by Mort encapsulate the multifaceted beauty of our personalities.
