Product Insights
The Steel & Barnett Blue Sodalite Bracelet (59 CAD) combines 316L stainless steel durability and hypoallergenic properties with sodalite's throat-chakra benefits for communication and emotional balance. Crafted from stones first identified in Greenland in 1811, each bracelet offers a unique fit and appearance due to natural bead variation. A snugger fit accommodates elastic relaxation, but the non-replaceable cord requires proactive restringing. To preserve the matte finish, remove during swimming, exercise, or showering, and store in the included pouch; avoid stacking to prevent scratching. Size carefully accounting for stretch and layering, and roll gently onto the hand to extend elastic life.
- Chakra properties
Sodalite is linked to the throat chakra for communication and creative expression.
Why this is supported
Sodalite is consistently associated with the throat chakra (Vishuddha) in energy healing
Sodalite stone meaning and symbolism — throat_chakra_vishuddha_alignment, where wearing it near the wrist's pulse point is thought to keep the chakra's communicative energy activated, benefiting those who speak publicly or navigate difficult conversations. This association is complemented by the stone's dual nickname:
sodalite is nicknamed both the 'Poet's Stone' for creative verbal expression and the 'Stone of Truth' for honest communication
Sodalite stone meaning and symbolism — poet_s_stone_stone_of_truth. Additionally, sodalite is said to bridge the throat and third-eye chakras, fostering synergy between intellect and intuition, making it a symbolic fit for writers and decision-makers.
- Emotional balance
Sodalite is used in crystal healing to calm emotional volatility.

- Origin

Why this is supported
Sodalite was first identified in Greenland in 1811 by German-born mineralogist Carl Ludwig Giesecke

- Fit
A snugger fit counters elastic relaxation, while bead variation tweaks exact length.
Why this is supported
The elastic naturally relaxes over time, so
choosing a size that is initially snug rather than loose can help the bracelet maintain a secure fit even as the band naturally stretches
How to size a 6mm beaded bracelet — elastic_resilienceAdditionally, sodalite beads vary in size, meaning
, so measuring inner circumference upon arrival ensures the elastic isn't overstressed.
- Replacement
The elastic cord is not user-replaceable; watch for fraying to restring proactively.
Why this is supported
The elastic cord is integrated into the bracelet and
the elastic is likely designed for the lifetime of the bracelet and may not be user-replaceable
Is the elastic cord replaceable if it wears out? However, signs of wear—
visible fraying, thinning, or permanent stretch where the bracelet no longer returns to its original shape
Elastic bracelet care and lifespan — cord_fatigue_signals—can indicate it's time for a jeweler to restring, preventing lost beads.
- Durability
316L stainless steel withstands frequent washing and resists corrosion and scratches.
Why this is supported
The 316L stainless steel beads are surgical-grade and
withstands prolonged skin contact and frequent washing better than fashion-grade metals
Why 316L stainless steel lasts — surgical_grade_durability_standard. The addition of 2–3% molybdenum

- Hypoallergenic
Surgical-grade 316L stainless steel is hypoallergenic with very low nickel content.
Why this is supported
The bracelet's stainless steel is
surgical-grade and widely considered hypoallergenic with very low nickel content

- Reusability
316L stainless steel beads can be reused if the elastic cord wears out.
Why this is supported
If the elastic cord wears out, the beads can be restrung,
preserving the original 316L stainless steel and sodalite beads

- Wear technique
Roll bracelet gently over hand rather than pulling to extend elastic life.
Why this is supported
Catalog verified that
rolling the bracelet gently over the hand instead of pulling it wide reduces stress on the cord fibers and extends its life, especially important given the 6 mm bead width which requires less expansion than larger beads
Elastic bracelet care and lifespan — hand_rolling_technique.
- Bead variation
Each bracelet is unique in fit and appearance due to natural bead variation.
Why this is supported
Natural sodalite beads vary slightly in diameter and shape from bead to bead, as noted in the manufacturer's sizing guide:
As a natural gemstone, sodalite beads can vary slightly in diameter and shape, which means each bracelet may differ by a fraction of a millimeter in total length
How to size a 6mm beaded bracelet — sodalite_stone_consistencyThis variance means each bracelet is slightly different in length and overall fit. The brand acknowledges this and advises:
trying on or measuring the bracelet’s inner circumference upon arrival is advisable

Beautiful bracelet
This bracelet fits well and the beads are beautiful. It is a lovely gift.
Great for my husband
I bought this for my husband for Father's Day along with the double row leather bracelet in blue also offered by Simon's. My husband loved them all and, for this one, he really liked the stones and the colour. It works great by itself or with a leather bracelet for some contrast. Fabulous with jeans or even to be hip in a suit.
