Product Insights
The Simons Maison Colourful Balls Cocktail Glasses Set Of 2 offers a borosilicate glass upgrade at the price of standard glass, delivering lighter, clearer, and more durable construction with a stable 9–12 oz wide bowl that concentrates aromas and resists spills. It withstands thermal shocks from freezer to boiling (330°F tolerance) and is dishwasher and microwave safe, unlike many comparably priced decorative glasses. The tradeoff is that while it rivals designer borosilicate sets at half the cost, proper care—holding by the base, storing upright, and using top-rack low-temperature cycles—is required to maintain its clarity and performance.
- Storage
Store glasses upright, not upside down or on rim.
Why this is supported
Expert care guides recommend storing these glasses upright to keep weight off the ball stem, the most fragile point.
Store upright rather than upside down
leaproll.comThis prevents the decorative beads from bearing the glass's full weight.
- Handling
Hold by the base and avoid twisting bowl against stem.
Why this is supported
The decorative ball stem is the most vulnerable part; care sources give two essential handling rules.
When cleaning stemmed glasses, never hold the glass by the stem. Always hold the glass by the base to prevent the stem from snapping.
hunker.comAnd to avoid breakage from twisting forces:
Never hold the base plate and the bowl at the same time when drying or polishing the glass, as this can cause the stem to break due to twisting.
riedel.comFollowing both prevents snapping the bead stem.
- Care
Use top-rack, low-temperature (50–55°C) dishwasher cycle.
Why this is supported
Though the glasses are dishwasher safe, a gentle cycle protects the colorful bead stem from thermal and mechanical stress.
When washing glassware you should select a low temperature program (50-55 °C) or, if available, a special glass program.
riedel.comAdditionally, proper placement reduces risk of impact:
If possible, place your glasses on the top shelf of the dishwasher and use the glass holder if your dishwasher has one.
riedel.comThese steps minimize stress on the ball joints.
- Material quality
Borosilicate glass: lighter, clearer, more durable, stable wide bowl, 9-12 oz.
Why this is supported

Broken during shipping - Return shipping costs almost the same as the glasses
I was disappointed that one of these glasses was broken when we opened the box. The stem was right off when I unwrapped it. The other glass was perfect. I was looking forward to using these, but I'm not sending them back as the return shipping is almost the same price as the glasses.
This glass was delivered broken.
This glass was delivered broken twice. It is still not refunded, so please process it quickly.
Nice quality and cute
Love these glasses! Made the perfect gift.
Packed Terribly!
Ordered six. Two of the boxes each had 1 broken stem. Simons sent a new box to replace the broken ones and both the new ones arrived broken as well. Such a disappointment for the price!
