Product Insights
The Cordele Rectangular Teak Wood Table by ARB Teak is a heavy 80‑lb butterfly‑leg table that provides exceptional stability without tie‑downs, resisting rocking and wind. Its recessed feet allow flush wall placement, preventing toe stubs, while narrow slat gaps keep cutlery and stemware stable. Care is minimal: clean with mild detergent and water, as teak oil is unnecessary. Left untreated, the teak naturally weathers to a silver‑gray patina, offering a classic look with the tradeoff that outdoor winter storage requires a breathable cover or unheated shed.
Verified claims
- Stability
- Heavy 80-lb (36 kg) X-brace/butterfly trestle table resists rocking and wind without tie-downs.
- Foot clearance
- Recessed feet let table sit flush against walls without stubbing toes.
- Slat spacing
- Slats are spaced closely enough to prevent small items from falling through; narrow slat gaps keep cutlery and stemware bases stable.
- Care
- Teak oil is unnecessary; clean with mild detergent and water.
- Weathering
- Left untreated, teak weathers to a silver-gray patina.
- Winter storage
- The table can be left outdoors uncovered in harsh winters; a breathable cover or unheated shed is advised to prevent moisture issues from wind and snow loading.
- Wood sourcing
- The teak is sourced from responsibly managed Indonesian plantations through the government-regulated Perhutani forestry system; it is not FSC-certified, and specific grade is not stated.
- Slat gap measurement
- The exact gap between slats is not published; the table is described as having slats spaced closely enough to prevent small items from falling through, and typical teak slatted tables have gaps under 1/2 inch, so standard cutlery should not fall through but very thin items could potentially slip.
- Finish on arrival
- The table does not arrive pre-oiled; natural teak oils give it a polished appearance initially.
- Solid teak construction
- The Cordele's top and slats are solid teak, not a teak veneer over another wood; the table is listed as 100% teak wood. ARB Teak does not publish the tabletop thickness.
- Seating capacity
- Plan for six at the 63-inch Cordele: ARB Teak's size guide groups this 63 x 36-inch table under its six-place layouts, using about 24 inches (60 cm) of table edge per setting. Comfortable fit depends on chairs, armrests, leg placement, and whether anyone sits at the ends.
- Assembly
- The Cordele arrives fully assembled; no assembly is required and no tools are included or needed.
