Howdy! Somewhat unpopular opinion it seems, but I really enjoy my verve chair. Past experiences have been that I had to "get used to" or "break in" a chair, but this one was great for me. 5' 4" and 135lbs, and as soon as I sat in it I felt great. Similar situation as you--I work from home full time and have a standing desk and my Verve Chair. I have a different gaming setup, so this is purely for my work day, where I generally want to be siting in an ergonomic and professional way for productivity, unless I'm standing anyway. I alternate by meetings/tasks--standing for one, sit for the next in 1-2 hour intervals. No movable armrests. I thought it would drive me nuts, but they're well positioned enough, and do adjust height, so it hasn't been an issue for me. I've had it for 9 months and it's ALREADY showing signs of pilling on the seat. Granted it's fabric, but for a chair that should last 7+ years, when I only use it for half of my work day, and the seat fabric isn't covered as part of warranty, that's pretty disappointing.

I love the look of my chair, and have had two other chairs of yours in the past, but this one (the Verve) is KILLING my back. Do you have any recommendations? I don't know what it is, but I can barely sit for two hours without pain.

The Verve might actually be perfect for you at 5'5" - it's designed with a slightly smaller frame that works great for folks between 5' and 5'10", and you wouldn't need a footrest like some people do with our Ergonomic chair. The Verve has a medium-firm support that's more forgiving than the Ergonomic, which some find more comfortable for those 8+ hour days. I’m about return my branch verve rn and get a refurbished steelcase Amia for 500 cad. Branch verve wasn’t for me because the lumbar support was too low at the highest level imo. But I think it might be good for short people.
