Product Insights
This Canadian-made pouf from a family-owned company combines a solution-dyed olefin cover that repels water and resists fading for 800 sunlight hours with a lightweight, moisture-proof EPS bead fill that molds to the body and can be topped up to restore shape. Its large 26x22 top offers adult seating with 60% more area than standard square poufs, while remaining portable. The spill-resistant, chlorine- and bleach-tolerant fabric has a soft cotton-like feel but requires re-waterproofing every 6–12 months, and fading is gradual and even. Profits stay in Canada reinforcing local economic support.
Verified claims
- Material
- 100% solution-dyed olefin cover repels water and stays colorfast 800 sunlight hours; 100% EPS fill is moisture-proof and adaptive.
- Origin
- Made in Canada by a family-owned company with a perfect capital score (40/40) ensuring 100% domestic ownership.
- Moisture resistance
- Polystyrene beads repel moisture, preventing waterlogging and mildew outdoors.
- Portability
- Polystyrene bead fill keeps the pouf lightweight and portable.
- Comfort
- Bead fill molds to body contours for a supportive, enveloping seat.
- Fill refreshability
- Fill can be topped up with EPS beads to restore shape after compression.
- Colorfastness
- Solution-dyed olefin retains colour for 800 hours of sunlight.
- Stain & chemical resistance
- Spill-, mold-, and chlorine-resistant; tolerates dilute bleach.
- Care
- Abrasion-resistant and resists pilling; wash in lukewarm water and air dry; reapply fabric-safe waterproofing every 6–12 months.
- Hand feel
- Soft, cotton-like feel despite outdoor toughness.
- Cleaning
- Spills wipe away easily; diluted bleach is safe for tough stains.
- Seating
- 26x22 top: adult seat, 60% more area than 18 square poufs.
- Outdoor
- Olefin and bead fill resist water, chlorine, and fading for outdoor use.
- Fade resistance
- Fading is gradual and even because pigment is locked through the entire olefin fibre.
- Capital retention
- 100% of profits stay Canadian, reinforcing local economic support.
- Made in Canada
- Family-owned since the 1800s, designed and made in Canada.
- Outdoor cover performance
- The pouf's durable, water-repellent cover is made from solution-dyed 100% olefin and carries an 800-hour colour-retention rating, so the pouf can stay on patios and poolside instead of being indoor-only.
- Quick drying
- Because olefin is non-porous, water beads on the surface and evaporates quickly, so the pouf dries fast after rain or poolside splashes.
- Seating capacity
- The pouf's 26-inch by 22-inch top is large enough to support an adult for casual seating, not just as a footrest.
- UV endurance
- The 800-hour colour-retention figure is a controlled lab lightfastness score, not a countdown of 800 fade-free sunny hours; in direct full sun, solution-dyed olefin can show noticeable fading within two to three seasons in high-UV climates.
- Floor protection
- There is no non-slip backing specified; the soft olefin shell and polystyrene bead fill leave a fabric base that is unlikely to scratch hardwood but can slide on smooth tile.
- Side table use
- With a polystyrene bead fill and no rigid top, this pouf conforms under weight, so it does not provide a flat, stable surface for a drink tray; at 14 inches high it works better as a footrest or casual extra seat than as a side table.
- Removability
- The cover is spot-clean only and is not listed as removable or machine washable; routine spot-cleaning with mild soap and lukewarm water is usually sufficient.

Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Santorini Striped Pouf Indoor And Outdoor: Choose this if you want a low-profile rectangular pouf that works both indoors and outdoors — its durable, water-repellent 100% olefin cover is designed to retain colour for up to 800 hours, which the retailer says makes it ideal for patios, balconies, poolside areas and modern interiors. It comes in one size (26 inches wide by 22 inches deep by 14 inches high) with a 100% polystyrene bead fill, is made in Canada, and is offered in Patterned Grey, Patterned Ecru and Patterned Yellow striped colourways.[1,2] | Talea Round Pouf Indoor And Outdoor: Choose this if you want a small round pouf that works both indoors and outdoors — Simons describes it as ideal for patios, balconies, poolside areas and modern interiors. Its 100% olefin cover is water-repellent and said to retain colour for up to 800 hours (the retailer does not state the basis for that figure), and the polystyrene bead fill keeps it lightweight at 24 inches wide by 24 inches long and 16 inches high. It comes in Grey and Pale Grey, one size, with a matte woven, subtly speckled fabric and stitched panel construction, and it is made in Canada.[3,4,5] | Rubberwood Legs Round Pouf: Choose this for a compact round accent pouf (17.25 inches in diameter, 15.5 inches high, 8.5 pounds) with a foam fill, plywood frame, finely bouclé upholstered cover, and three natural rubberwood legs, offered in one size in Slate Grey, Ivory/Cream Beige, or Khaki/Sage/Olive. Choose it if you want the sleek, modern chic style the merchant describes, with a nearly flat circular top suited to setting down items like books, a glass, or a lamp. Note that the light natural wood legs show small knots and color variation in a smooth matte finish that appears lightly sealed at most, so expect an organic, imperfect look.[6,7,8] |
