Product Insights
The HOUE Reclips Outdoor Armrest Chairs Set of 4 is a commercial-grade, repairable outdoor seating system whose title and 948 CAD headline price require a pack-size correction: the price covers the two-chair set, not four chairs, and adding a second pair costs just 11 CAD more, lowering the per-chair price from 474 to about 240 CAD, with all four colorways stocked in both pack sizes at the same price. Its core promise is EN 581 Contract-rated construction, the top severity tier for restaurant and venue seating, with static load proof of 200 kg / 441 lb exceeding the 300 lb per-chair rating; UV-stabilized plastic lamellas made from 97% post-consumer Danish household waste plus 3% UV pigment sit on a corrosion-resistant aluminum frame, and ten open slats drain rain so the seat is dry minutes after a shower. The frame's rust barrier is the powder coat, not the bare aluminum, and corrosion attacks welds and fastener joints before open frame runs, while standing water at the feet is more damaging than a season of rain; near the coast the powder coat fails about three times faster and a chipped frame is genuinely unprotected, so chips should be repaired promptly and the chair stored in a dry place over winter rather than under a cover that traps condensation. The main comfort tradeoffs are a 15.2 in deep seat pan that cuts thigh support for taller sitters on long sits, armrests at 65 cm or 19 cm above the seat just under the 20-25 cm guide with a 44.5 cm wide seat, a fixed 46 cm seat height that is mid-range for dining but leaves distinctly shorter sitters dangling, and a backrest rising 36 cm above the seat that supports the lower back rather than the shoulder blades; the flat slatted seat has no foam, allowing posture shifts and constant firmness. Repairability and longevity are central: individual seat and back lamellas clip off and are sold as spares, center lamella 22321-XX and end lamella 22322-XX, alongside chair glides and armrests, so stacking scuffs renew one slat at a time and ordering replacement lamellas in another color recolors a chair without replacing it; the UV-protected finish carries a 5-year warranty, color and gloss hold for 5-10 years then chalk rather than flake, any colorway holds its tone in UV, and cleaning with mild soap and water is safe because the powder coat is moisture-impervious while harsh solvents dull the finish. A nested set of four takes about 0.35 m² and weighs 34-40 lb.
Verified claims
- Pack size
- Sold as SET/2 or SET/4 — the 948 CAD headline price is the two-chair set, not four chairs.
- Per-chair price
- The second pair adds 11 CAD, dropping the per-chair price from 474 to about 240 CAD.
- Color options
- All four colorways are stocked in both pack sizes at the same price.
- Commercial grade
- Rated EN 581 Contract use, the top severity tier for restaurant and venue seating.
- Load testing
- EN 581 static load proof of 200 kg / 441 lb exceeds the 300 lb per-chair rating.
- Powder coat
- The powder coat — not the bare aluminum — is the frame's rust barrier.
- Joint corrosion
- Corrosion starts at the welds and fastener joints, not the open frame runs.
- Standing water
- Ponding water at the feet corrodes the frame faster than a season of rain.
- Coastal corrosion
- Near the coast the powder coat is the frame's real rust barrier, and a chip or scratch leaves the aluminum unprotected; expect a 5–10 year finish life there unless salt is rinsed away.
- Winter storage
- Store in a dry place over winter rather than under a cover, which traps condensation
- Drainage
- Open slats drain rain so the seat is dry minutes after a shower.
- Spare parts
- Clipped-on seat and back lamellas are sold as replaceable spares, so stacking scuffs renew one slat at a time.
- Warranty
- HOUE backs the construction with a 5-year warranty.
- Seat depth comfort
- Seat pan is 15.2 in deep, cutting thigh support for taller sitters on long sits.
- Material composition
- Slats are 97% post-consumer Danish household waste with 3% UV pigment on an aluminum frame
- Replaceable slats
- Individual slats clip off and are sold as spares — center lamella 22321-XX, end lamella 22322-XX
- Recolor
- Ordering replacement lamellas in another color recolors a chair without replacing it
- Cleaning
- Clean with mild soap and water; the powder-coated aluminum and recycled-plastic slats do not absorb water, and harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners dull the finish.
- Armrest dimensions
- Armrests sit 65 cm up — 19 cm above the seat, just under the 20-25 cm guide; seat is 44.5 cm wide
- Seat height
- 46 cm seat height sits mid-range for dining, but it is fixed — distinctly shorter sitters dangle
- Backrest
- Backrest rises 36 cm above the seat, supporting the lower back rather than the shoulder blades
- Seat surface
- Flat slatted seat with no foam or cushion lets sitters shift posture and keeps firmness constant.
- Stacking
- A nested set of four takes about 0.35 m² and weighs 34-40 lb
- Weather resistance
- UV-stabilized plastic lamellas on a corrosion-resistant aluminum frame, backed by a 5-year warranty
- Repairability
- Individual lamellas clip out as spare parts, alongside chair glides and armrests
- Coastal durability
- In marine, industrial or poolside settings, wash the frame every 3 months instead of the annual wash an inland patio needs to keep salt and chloride from attacking the coating.
- Fade resistance
- The UV-stabilized recycled-plastic lamellas resist fading and brittleness, holding their tone through normal sun exposure with minimal maintenance rather than flaking off.
- Colour choice
- Any colourway holds its tone in UV, and clip-on spare lamellas let it be changed later.
- Pack-size pricing
- The 948 CAD headline price is for the two-chair set; the four-chair set is 959 CAD, so the second pair adds only 11 CAD and drops per-chair cost to about 240 CAD.
- Stack height
- HOUE rates the chair stackable up to 10 high, and a set of four nests into one column about 82 cm (32.3 in) tall — close to the height of a single chair.
- Recycled content
- The slats are molded from 97% recycled Danish household plastic waste with a 3% UV and color pigment blend, and the material is UV-stabilized.
- Chair weight variance
- The listing quotes 10 lb per chair, but HOUE's own spec sheet lists net weight at 3.9 kg (8.6 lb) per chair.
