I actually just saw the Basquiat/Haring exhibition at the NGV in Melbourne yesterday. While Basquiat has always been one of my favourites, and I admire Harding’s work, I never quite realised how both of them had influenced my whole life being a millennial growing up in the 90s.

Political activism often missing from commercial representations
Anyone who knows about Haring's message knows that his works were often political; he was an outspoken advocate during the gay rights movement of that era. His political statements about HIV/AIDS and his sexuality identity are completely left out of this documentary
