Product Insights
The Simons Maison Artificial River Grass Green Plant is a 96.5 cm tall outdoor-rated decor piece with slender airy foliage mimicking real grass. At $128 CAD (double indoor alternatives but with a fuller 33 cm diameter and outdoor rating), it anchors corners and groups with shorter plants for depth, and complements modern minimalist interiors. However, it requires UV spray to prevent plastic fading, piercing the pot for drainage to avoid freeze cracking, and a heavier planter or covered placement to counter wind tipping—a tradeoff of low maintenance for a natural aesthetic.
Verified claims
- Price comparison
- At 128 CAD, this plant costs roughly double indoor-only alternatives but adds outdoor rating and fuller 33 cm diameter.
- Fading
- Prolonged direct sun may fade the plastic; applying an outdoor UV-protectant spray helps extend its life.
- Weather durability
- Freezing water can crack the solid pot; the pot may tip in strong wind.
- Placement versatility
- Suitable for covered outdoor and commercial settings; UV and drainage care advised for full sun.
- Corner and grouping
- Anchors corners and pairs with shorter plants for layered depth.
- Aesthetic customization
- Upgrade planter with moss; complements modern, minimalist, and nature interiors.
- Foliage realism
- Slender, airy foliage gives the plant a realistic river-grass texture and silhouette.
- Drainage
- Included pot lacks drainage holes; piercing prevents freeze cracking.
- Stability
- The pot is standard lightweight plastic and may tip in wind even though the full plant weighs 10 lb; a heavier decorative planter, added base weight, or a covered area improves stability.
- Maintenance
- It requires no light, watering, or maintenance, and keeps a consistent green look in offices, retail spaces, and covered outdoor areas.
- Included planter
- It comes in a standard plastic pot rather than a decorative planter; buyers who want a finished look should plan to add a heavier ceramic or woven planter.
- Diameter measurement
- The 33 cm (13 in) diameter is the overall foliage spread, not the pot width; the included pot is smaller, which is why these plants are usually displayed inside a separate decorative planter.
- Close-up realism
- The plant is described as having a natural realism that easily passes for a real plant, with a bushy habit; the listing does not detail color variations, so buyers should check customer photos to confirm the exact look.

Its plastic is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and one reviewer reported it holds up well and is of good quality for exterior use. It comes in a standard plastic pot, so you can place it in a decorative planter of your choice.[1]

Product comparison
Compared within this brand.
| Artificial River Grass Green Plant 96.5 Cm Tall: Choose this if you want a maintenance-free, lifelike grass plant for indoor shelves, corners, or covered outdoor spaces like patios and balconies — its plastic construction suits both settings, and reviewers say it looks natural and matches the photos. It stands 38 inches (96.5 cm) tall with a 13-inch (33 cm) diameter and arrives in a standard black plastic pot, so plan to buy a decorative planter separately if you want a finished potted look. Note that some buyers found it smaller and sparser than expected, so check the dimensions and consider sizing up if you want a fuller, lush effect for a large floor space.[1] | Large Artificial Date Palm Green Plant: Choose this if you want a tall, no-maintenance artificial palm in the date-palm (Phoenix roebelenii) style for indoor or outdoor decor: it is plastic, stands 70 inches (178 cm) high with a 28-inch (71 cm) diameter, and weighs 81 pounds. The retailer describes its look as incredibly realistic, with layered pinnate fronds in mixed green tones shown in the product images. Note that it comes with only a standard plastic pot filled with decorative moss, so plan on using your own decorative planter, and its realism is a retailer characterization rather than a reported customer experience.[2,3,4] | Artificial Ficus Green Plant: Choose this if you want a maintenance-free artificial rubber plant with a tropical look for indoor or outdoor decor. It stands about 44 inches tall with a 16-inch diameter and weighs 15 lb, featuring thick, glossy dark green leaves on multiple brown, wood-look stems, in a green plastic design the merchant describes as having astonishing realism. Note that it arrives in a standard plastic pot only, so you will need a decorative planter if you want a finished look.[5,6] |
